Brewery Review: The Ship Inn in Milford NJ
I recently got the chance to check out The Ship Inn in Milford, NJ which happens to be the oldest brew pub in the state! It’s a GREAT option for lunch and dinner because you can try awesome beer AND get great British Style Food!
Since I like to try all the beers a brewery or brew pub offers, I split a flight of the 6 different beers. The cost of the flight was $7.50 which is not too shabby. I should note that they offer different beers year round, so you might not always have the same flight if you decided to order one yourself.
Brews on Tap:
– IPA
– Golden Wheat (my favorite)
– Extra Special Bitter
– Scattergood
– Summer’s End Porter
– Best Bitter
Usually I would list their ABV but they did not supply that information.
The Golden Wheat, ESB and the Best Bitter are their permanent fixtures on tap. They keep a porter, brown ale, or stout on tap as well. While we were there it was the Summer’s End Porter (it was the last weekend in Sept), and the IPA for the brown ale. The Scattergood was a seasonal Summer wheat. For a full list click HERE.
Since we were in a British pub and it was dinner time, dinner was inevitable. I shared these nachos:

Now, as you can see, this was plenty of nachos. So much in fact that I barely touched my entree of fish and chips:
We left with plenty of food leftovers and a growler (to add to the collection) filled with the Golden Wheat. Fun fact, if you dine there you get a discount on the growler. It was only $11 for a new growler filled! That’s a good deal!
Definitely check out this brew pub. There’s plenty of history, great beer, great food and even fun signs!
