It’s the first weekend of Fall! From culture events like the Westfield International Film Festival and the Rahway Culture Crawl, to foodie events like the Elmwood Park Food Truck and Music Festival, early Oktoberfests and more…there is PLENTY to to do this weekend! Here are my picks for the Top Ten New Jersey Events for September 21st – 23rd, 2018.

Top Ten New Jersey Events for September 21st – 23rd, 2018:

Westfield International Film Festival
The Westfield International Film Festival will span a four day weekend and will include Q&A sessions with actors and filmmakers, networking opportunities, and red carpet parties. Independent films and filmmakers from all across the globe will gather at the James Ward Mansion in September. The festival will be screening 61 films and music videos, of short and feature length, from as near as New Jersey and as far as India, France, Iran, Turkey, Spain, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

2nd Annual Oktoberfest and International Food Festival
The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Friends of Passaic County Parks are hosting the 2nd Annual Oktoberfest and International Food Festival on Saturday, September 22nd from 3 to 10 p.m. at the Garret Mountain Reservation Boat House, located at 8 Mountain Ave. in Woodland Park. Enjoy the food and heritage of Germany, as well as food from the various cultures that make Passaic County so diverse. The event will feature award-winning food trucks from across the state, as well as craft IPA beers brewed locally. Patrons can also enjoy live music and traditional Oktoberfest competitions, such as stein hoisting, keg stacking, corn hole, and tug-o-war. All proceeds benefit Friends of Passaic County Parks, which is a non-profit that advocates for preservation and enhancement of the local park system.

Savor September Food, Wine and Beer Festival
The 7th annual Stone Harbor Savor September Food, Wine and Beer Festival will showcase the best food, wine & beers. Enjoy tasting tents, a grape stomping competition, live & local music, talented art vendors and much more fun for the whole family.

Wildwood Crest Seafarers’ Celebration
A huge family bayfront street festival at Sunset Lake, followed by live music and fireworks at Centennial Park at dusk. Festival includes live music, craft vendors, food, family entertainment, children’s activities and much more.

Elmwood Park Food Truck & Music Festival
Food! Beer! Music! Fun! New Jersey foodies, eat your hearts out! It’s a fun filled family day! 20 Gourmet Food Trucks, partnered with some incredible bands, make for an enchanting and fulfilling Fall day. Bring your appetite, lawn chairs and blankets. Dine on excellent food, while enjoying the beer and sangria garden along with the amazing sounds.

Rahway Culture Crawl
Culture Crawl is a one day explosion of arts, culture, music – taking place in downtown Rahway, New Jersey.Culture Crawl features live performances, interactive art, sculpture, video, audio installations, music, and unique vendors. This arts-based event is an opportunity for artists, musicians, and performers to create and present new work, and offers a chance to experience and engage with the arts and business communities in a unique and innovative way.

The 34th Annual Oktoberfest At Mountain Creek Resort
Experience Oktoberfest in Vernon, New Jersey with over 100 varieties of beers, ciders, hard sodas and seltzers – the most variety to date, authentic german food, and activities for kids and adult alike.

South Jersey Wine & Food Festival
Presented by the Mays Landing Merchants Association, the 8th Annual South Jersey Wine and Food Festival is returning to serene Lake Lenape Park East in Mays Landing, on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Come out to meet some of South Jersey’s best winemakers and culinary personalities and sample their delicious creations! With the picturesque lake and the historic lighthouse as the backdrop, this Fall festival allows attendees to dine on a vast array of local culinary and sample Garden State wines, grown right in our own backyard.

Nacho Fathas Oktoberfest BBQ
Nacho Fathas Oktoberfest BBQ will celebrate both the season, beer and (of course) BBQ in Northern New Jersey outdoors at Garden State Plaza. An array of BBQ vendors will be on hand selling smoked meats and sausages. Other food vendors will offer traditional Oktoberfest fare like potato pancakes and soft pretzels. Grab some brews from a seasonal biergarten featuring local craft breweries and German beer on tap. Other attractions and activities include music and games for the entire family plus fun contests, giveaways and more!
