Creamy Acres Farm Night of Lights
December 14 & 15, 5:30PM – 8:30PM

Enjoy the magic of Christmas at Creamy Acres Farm! The dairy farm is transformed into a Christmas wonderland with huge sparkling light displays, a musical dancing tree light show and lights galore. Bring the family for an old fashioned hayride set to the tune of your favorite Christmas songs, stroll through our Barnyard Walk aglow with lights, make s’mores by the fire, and get your photo taken with Santa! The Night of Lights Country Christmas Hayride is a fun family event that is sure to please kids of all ages.

Nacho Muthas Holiday Popup
December 14, 15, 21 & 22, 12PM – 8PM

Nacho Muthas Holiday Popup is a fun foodie market celebrating the holidays. There will be an array of vendors on hand offering local artisan eats & treats including prepared & packaged items — many of which are perfect for holiday gifts! The popup will take place steps from the mall’s East entrance, re-purposing the space formerly housing burger chain Steak ‘n Shake. It is located directly next to clothing & outerwear‎ retailer LL Bean.

Sea of Lights at Jenkinson’s Aquarium
December 14, 15, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 6PM – 9PM
Join Jenk’s for an indoor light spectacular and tons of other familiy fun. $7 Aquarium Admission, Make & Take Crafts, Visits with Singing Princesses, Scuba Santa, Games and MORE.

Turtle Back Zoo Holiday Lights
December 14 – 16, 5PM – 9PM

About 50 animal and holiday-themed figures will light up the winter night in Turtle Back Zoo and the surrounding Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex. Over 100,000 lights will illuminate figures of bears, tigers and elephants, along with holiday lights designed to look like wooden soldiers, stars and winter scenes. Several animal exhibits will be open, including the Sea Lion Sound, Essex Farm, Tam-ring Gibbons Reserve, Tropical Currents Aquarium and the Reptile Building. Myrtle the Turtle, the mascot of Turtle Back Zoo, and several of his winter friends will be on hand to greet visitors at the Zoo. “Selfies” with Santa Claus and a mailbox where children can send letters to Santa Clause at the North Pole will be available each night until December 23rd.

Cost: Admission is free. Donations of canned goods, pet food and unwrapped toys are suggested.

Metuchen Cookie Walk
December 15, 8AM – 1PM
The #MetuchenCookieWalk was started in 2015 with a simple premise: bake, buy, give. Local residents bake thousands of cookies which are then sold at the Cookie Walk. Cookie Walk attendees purchase either a small ($10) or large ($20) box that they filled with these delicious homemade cookies. In 2017, over 14,000 homemade cookies were donated, raising over $8,100 for the Fuccile Foundation and local families in need. In 2018, the Metuchen Cookie Walk will once again collect non-perishable food donations for the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen’s FPC Food Pantry.

Seaside Heights SantaCon
December 15, 12PM

Santacon is a non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political and non-sensical Santa Claus convention that occurs once a year for absolutely no reason. It’s your chance to spread holiday cheer in the most magical and absurd way possible.

Winter Wonderland Run
December 15, Noon
The Highlands Business Partnership’s 2nd Annual Winter Wonderland Run will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12PM. Registration is FREE and begins at 11AM. The event is sponsored by Proving Ground, 56 Shrewsbury Avenue, where the run will begin and end. There will be a post-run celebration with costume contests, music and food and drink specials. We will be collecting toy donations for the Highlands Fire Department Toys For Tots program, and canned goods and non-perishable items for the food pantry. Santas, Elves, Reindeer, Grinches, Ugly sweaters, wear your craziest holiday attire! There will be a costume contest with cash prizes following the run! Categories include Best Family, Best Male, Best Female and Best Child!

Family Winter Hike at the NJ Botanical Gardens
December 16, 1PM
An easy, child-friendly hike in the Garden’s woodlands, where you’ll learn a bit about the plants and animals around you in a hike designed to fit the group. Smaller children may need to be carried. Wear sturdy shoes, meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center.

Taste of the Boulevard
December 16, 1PM – 9PM (3 Sessions)

The Seaside Heights Business Improvement District in partnership with Extended Arms invites you to Taste of the Boulevard. Enjoy delicious light bites and sips from fan favorite local hot spots all while walking and taking in the beautiful sights of this beach town. Tickets are just $35* per person which includes select bites from participating restaurants including Klee’s Bar and Grill, Genevieve’s, PJ’s, Free Range, Goobers, Ohana, Capt Hooks, and Heavy Reel Brewery.

Lights and Carols for a ‘Claus
December 16, 7PM – 8PM
The Iantosca Family invites the community to enjoy their incredible lights display to kick off the holiday season. This event is fun for the whole family and is for a great cLause! In addition to the lights and decorations on the front lawn, Joe and Joanne Iantosca will be joined by Howell HS Rebel Yell and the Rebellettes and most importantly Mr. & Mrs. Claus all the way from the North Pole!
