The Route 70 Diner in Lakewood: Review

One of the newest New Jersey diners to hit the Jersey Shore is the Route 70 Diner located on Route 70(duh!) in Lakewood Township, NJ. I visited the diner with my good friend and fellow New Jersey diner enthusiast, Hollie aka FueledbyLOLZ.com(Stay tuned for her review).

Open since January 2019, the Route 70 Diner is open for breakfast and lunch every day from 7AM – 3PM. This affordable diner serves up all your favorite diner classics. Here are a few things that stood out to me on their menu:
– The Route 70 County Benedict; open faced buttermilk biscuits topped with 2 poached eggs, spinach, crumbled bacon, and diced tomatoes
– A Triple Decker Sloppy Joe made with pastrami, corn beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and coleslaw on rye bread
– Sausage gravy over biscuits
– Jumbo burgers (8oz)
– Side orders of corn beef hash, disco fries, and pizza fries

Overall their menu is short and sweet, but they also offer daily specials like chunky monkey waffle, cheese steak omelet, fish and chips, a belly buster croissant, chicken parm omelet, and more depending on the day.

Hollie got something I was envious of…a rib eye steak with eggs, hash browns, and toast.

While I got something I was dreaming about…chocolate chip pancakes.

To make it slightly healthier I got whole wheat pancakes, and I added bananas so I could have some fruit.

This cute diner is a great new spot for breakfast and lunch. Be sure to check it out!
