The Ridgledale Diner in East Hanover: Review
Located on Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover, the Ridgedale Diner is my first diner review of 2019! This tiny family friendly diner is located in a small strip mall, so be sure not to pass it while driving!
The Ridgedale Diner was founded in 2000 and since then has blossomed into one of the area’s most popular diners. From Greek and Mediterranean specialties to classic American and Italian foods they have something for everyone.
Items that stood out to me on their menu included:
– A Zucchini Omelette
– “Mexico Fiesta” Egg Benedict
– The Hangover Breakfast Sandwich (Taylor Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Boiled Ham, Potato, Egg, & Cheese)
– A Gyro Breakfast Wrap
– The Body Builder Burger (mushrooms, spinach, and Swiss cheese on a hard roll)
– Fish and Chips
Another item that stood out was their Juicy Lucy, a cheeseburger created in the Midwest with cheese inside the meat instead of on top, resulting in a melted core of cheese. My husband, who had worked in Minneapolis where the burger was establish was super excited to see it on the menu. So of course he ordered it.
Look at that cheese!
I ordered one of my favorite NJ diner items, a chicken souvlaki. The sandwich came with a side of homemade coleslaw (which I hear is homemade and amazing but I didn’t have it because I personally despise coleslaw) and a giant pickle.
Overall the sandwich was okay, but the tzatziki stood out. Very good!
Considering we had the diner to ourselves on our visit, it was a very nice overall experience.
Bonus: It’s a good place to try the lottery!
