Historic Smithville Holiday Light Show
Now – January 6, Dusk to 8:30PM
Enjoy the last weekend in Historic Smithville featuring popular songs of the Holiday Season synchronized with a dazzling Christmas tree light show sure to get you in the Holiday spirit.

Movern Garden’s Festival of Trees
Now – January 6

Festival of Trees is an annual highlight of the holiday season showcasing a juried collection of trees and mantles displayed throughout the museum’s galleries, upstairs and down. This year’s theme invites visitors to enjoy the newly reimagined first and second floor galleries, featuring trees inspired by 18th through 20th century decor. Area designers, artists, garden clubs, businesses, and non-profit organizations will adorn all of the Museum’s galleries, including the second floor, with exquisite and whimsical holiday decorations.

Old City Hall Holiday Train
January 4  – 6, Fri & Sat 4PM – 8PM, Sun 12PM – 8PM
The NJ Free-MO Modular Train organization and The Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey Garden Railroad Society will be exhibiting model trains for the enjoyment of children of all ages. Just in time for Holiday shopping and gift giving, Old City Hall’s Whistle Stop and Shop will be offering an array of items for purchase and collection. All Aboard for some Holiday Fun! There will be trains dating back to the early 1900’s, HO trains, O Gauge trains, and a Lego City and Train display. There will also be door prizes.

Snowflake Shuffle
January 5, 10AM – 12PM
The Snowflake Shuffle is a fun 3k community run designed for the whole family. The race will take place on a closed course within the Stockton University campus as part of Special Olympics New Jersey’s annual Winter Games. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics New Jersey to support over 25,000 athletes across the state.

55th Annual Reenactment of the Colonel Hand March
January 5, 10AM – 12PM
Don’t miss the 57th Annual Reenactment of the Col. Hand March on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 10am. An unsung hero, is Edward Hand, colonel of the 1st Pennsylvania Regiment, saw action in all three engagements of the Ten Crucial Days campaign. This event is a commemoration of Colonel Edward Hand’s Delaying Actions on the Maidenhead – Trenton Road on January 2nd, 1777. Historical programming and musket firings take place at the Municipal Center before a two-mile march along the historic highway leads to a cannon fire at the Shabakunk Creek (Notre Dame HS)

West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market’s Indoor Farmer’s Market
January 5, 10AM – 1PM
Now in its 13th year, the Indoor Farmers Market attracts folks from far and wide around amazing local food and producers. Meander throughout the rooms of the Windsor Athletic Club to find winter produce, pastured meats and poultry, fresh seafood, mushrooms, artisan cheeses, sauces, jams, chocolates, wine and much more. Plan on a morning filled with good food, live music and positive vibes!

Central Jersey Cat Fanciers
January 5 & 6
Central Jersey Cat Fanciers will be having its annual show in Whippany, NJ! 250 cats will be present and competing at this show. Judging will take place in 7 different rings each day. This will be an opportunity to see many different breeds of cats including Bengals, Sphynx, Maine Coons, Siamese, Oriental Shorthairs, Ragdolls, Persians, Toygers, Siberians, and many more breeds. There is also a special category for household pets and kittens, which need not be purebreds. Final awards will be presented in each category as well as Spectator’s Choice Awards. People will be bringing their cats to compete from all over the country as well as several people from outside the United States. In addition to the cats and kittens, there will be many vendors selling gift items for you and your pet; scratching posts, magazines, jewelry, toys as well as unusual items. There will also be food available at the hotel. Rescue group, Angel Paws, will be bringing homeless pets for adoption.

Wayne NJ Toy Show
January 6, 8AM – 2PM
NJ’s longest running collectibles show with over 80 tables of collectibles you’ve been searching for from your childhood and modern toys that will rekindle your love of all things plastic. The show also hosts a dizzying array of movie memorabilia, hard to find films and comic books. Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel and DC Comics, G.I.Joe, Disney, Kaiju, Anime, MEGO, Funko Pop Vinyl… toys, action figures, statues, art toys, convention exclusives… make a wish, you’ll probably find it here!!

Art Together is an great program for families where they will explore the amazing world of art. In each session, an instructor will lead participants through one of the galleries, followed by an arts and crafts project.

Hunterdon Land Trust’s Winter Farmers’ Market
January 6, 11AM – 1PM

Join the Hunderdon Land Trust’s Winter Farmers’ Market which runs the first and third Sundays of every month from December to early May. New participants this year include seafood vendor, Local 130 Seafood; Aquasprouts Farm, an aquaponics farm with lettuce and kale; Oak Grove Angus Farms with beef; Picklelicious, who offers an incredible assortment of pickles and olives; and Will’s Amazing Vegan Burgers. They’ll also host a number of returning farmers and vendors including Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Comeback Farm, Sandbrook MeadowFarm, WoodsEdge Farm, Fired Up Flatbread Co., Purely Farm, Fieldstone Coffee Roasters and River Lea House.
