Sunset Diner in Green Brook: Review
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover the Sunset Diner! Located on Route 22 in Green Brook Twp, this 24 hour diner was a very pleasant diner experience!
For starters, I LOVED the diner’s interior.
Some may say it’s outdated, but I love the diners with the classic diner lampshades and mirrored walls. It’s not your classic 50s diner, but it’s definitely your classic 80’s New Jersey Diner.
When we were seated we were given a brand new menu for the Sunset Diner. And when I say brand new, I mean that the diner’s menu was recently updated a week before our visit (3.16.18). It was so new that our very awesome waiter was still getting acquainted with it.
Not only was the menu new, it was extensive! Myself and two guests were all struggling to find one thing to order. They have lots of fun appetizers, homemade soups and chili, a full list of sliders, salads (including a “50 Shades of Green salad), and much, much more.
Ultimately I decided to get their “sizzling” chicken fajitas. And my meal came with way more than I was expecting…
I knew my meal came with a soup, so I ordered their homemade onion soup (very good!).
Then the waited came out with a full bread basket…
and a plate with beets and a chickpea salad. I was in over my head with this much food already, and my meal was under $15.
Then my main meal came out…which was delicious.
The tortillas were shaped in triangles making it a little weird to eat but it was still very good none the less. A very good meal for a very affordable price gives this diner an A+ in my book!
I convinced my husband to get one of the items off the slider menu since they looked so cute. He got chicken parm sliders which came with 3 sliders and fries AND a soup. He barely finished his meal because it was so much food.
Despite being full, I couldn’t resist taking this massive black and white cookie to take home. It made a delicious breakfast the next day…
