This Saturday – Grab a Beer, Grab a Brat, Watch Baseball and Be Happy!
Grab a beer, grab a brat, watch baseball and be happy! That’s a formula that’s hard to beat and it’s exactly how the Sussex County Miners want you to celebrate the start of the 2016 baseball season in Sussex County. On Saturday, May 14, the Miners will host their first Grand Slam Beer Fest at the All-New Skylands Stadium, featuring 100 of the area’s best craft brews, delicious food and an exhibition game between the Miners and the New Jersey Jackals.
First pitch between the Miners and Jackals is at 3:05 p.m., but the fun starts way before that. Come out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather in Sussex County as early as 1 p.m., when gates open for the Grand Slam Beer Fest. Relax in the scenic pavilion down the right field line and enjoy your choice of the area’s best beers while listening to local New Jersey band Lipstick Magazine crank out some live rock and roll from 1 p.m. until the start of the game. Grab yourself some fresh cooked food from the best concession stands in professional baseball and you have an unbeatable Saturday afternoon at the ballpark.
Want in on the action? If you are 21 years of age or older, you can get admission to the craft beer festival, a souvenir five-ounce plastic beer mug, unlimited beer tasting at the Grand Slam Beer Fest, a voucher for a bratwurst sandwich and a ticket to the game for only $39. Parking for the event is free and the beer tasting will go from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Game-only tickets for May 14 (for those under 21, or for those just wishing to attend the game) are $12 for reserved seats on the upper level and $14 for field-level seats; premium field-level seats are $17.
