Plaza Diner and Restaurant in Morris Plains, NJ: Review
If you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive meal at a local diner, the Plaza Diner and Restaurant is a great choice. Located on Speedwell Ave in Morris Plains, this cute diner is situated in an adorable downtown area.
Their motto is “Where Good Friends and Great Food Come Together”. Sadly, I was eating alone after a business meeting, but I did not feel lonely. The Plaza Diner and Restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday afternoon!
The Plaza Diner has your typical diner fare plus homemade soups, waffle fries, plenty of burgers and sandwiches; and lots of entrees ranging from steaks, to Greek specialties, seafood and more. They also make their own cheesecake!
Because it was a weekday afternoon I ordered one of the diner’s lunch specials which included a coffee, tea, or soda. I chose coffee after realizing I hadn’t had much caffeine that day.
For my meal I got their “Famous” chicken souvlaki, mainly because it was famous.
I was disappointed that the meal didn’t come with any sides besides coleslaw and pickles (of which I like neither), but the sandwich was MORE than enough food. It was packed to the brim with chicken, feta, LTO, and sauce in an oversized pita. So I left the diner very full!
The food, service, and meal were very nice and I was in and out of the diner in under 45 minutes! Definitely a good restaurant option if you’re in the area!
