No Kidding! My Best Day Ever Cuddling with Goats

I started off my decade the right way by checking off something on my bucket list…snuggling with goats (and a cow)!

The practice of goat yoga has been a new craze, and I’ve been wanting to try it since I heard about it. So when my friend saw an advertisement for goat yoga at Laurita Winery, we did not hesitate to book a class.

Since I knew that realistically I wasn’t going to do yoga and was really just looking forward to seeing the goats, they had an option for a snuggle session which I knew would be a better fit. Basically I would be getting an hour of loving time with goats (and a cow!) and getting a chance to feed them as well.

I was way too excited walking into Laurita Winery and couldn’t wait to cuddle with those goats. I loved seeing the goats in diapers and onesies!

The goats came from local rescue Horse and Goat Yoga. Horse and Goat Yoga based in Pennsylvania, is a rescued based organization. The proceeds of classes like the one at Laurita Winery go to cover expenses for their food, healthcare, and sanctuary. All rescued goats are adoptable and worthy of a second chance at life.

The goats were all tired out from the yoga class beforehand, so they were in perfect cuddle mode. I could literally pick up a goat and snuggle it.

The rescued baby goats do not have moms so they really enjoy the bond with people. We got a chance to bottle feed them which was one of the cutest moments of my life.

As we settled in one of the goats took a nap in my lap for 15 minutes which was a beautiful experience.

After my goat got tired of me, I moved my attention to Lovey the cow who was only 3 weeks old. She also slept on me for about 15 minutes. I guess I’m comfortable.

Our snuggle session also include a class of wine or a wine tasting, which was the perfect way to end this relaxing afternoon.

I always give the advice to not spend money on things, but to spend them on experiences. This was the perfect experience and I would highly recommend it to any animal lover. Be sure to be on the look out for the next classes at Laurita, and follow Horse and Goat Yoga to see where they’ll be next. Classes sell out fast…so be sure be like a goat and jump at the chance!
