Happy first official weekend of September! As the temperature starts to cool down, events are heating up! (September is the busiest month for events in our opinion!) Here’s your guide to New Jersey events this week from now until September 8th, 2024. Whether you’re into street fairs, food truck festivals, or free events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. PLUS you can find NJIB at Red Bank Fresh on Thursday as well as the Bergen Lafayette Bazaar Pop Up on Saturday (weather permitting).

Hoboken Italian Festival

The 98th Anniversary Celebration! The Hoboken Italian Festival is a four day festival of music food and fun from Thursday through Sunday. No day is greater however than Saturday, our “Feast” day. The day the 800lb statue of the Madonna Dei Martiri or Madonna of the Martyrs is carried through the streets of Hoboken.

St. Demetrios Greek Festival

The 47th Annual Greek Festival at St. Demetrios in Union, the largest and longest-running Greek festival in Union County, offers a weekend celebration of Greek culture with mouthwatering food, vibrant music, and exciting entertainment. Fall Brew by the Bay
September 7, 12 pm – 5 pm
The Seafarer, 1 Atlantic Ave., Highlands, will host the 2024 Fall Brew by the Bay on Saturday, September 7th, from 12-5PM. (Rain date 9/8). The tasting takes place on the picturesque waterfront; tickets are $40.00 and include seven 4oz. tastings and a pint of craft beer and a commemorative pilsner cup for the first 100 participants. Additional tastings can be purchased at the event for $3.

Caribbean Food Festival
September 7, 12 pm – 7 pm
On September 7th, Veterans Memorial Park in Parsippany will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Caribbean at the 2024 Caribbean Food Fest. Attendees can indulge in Caribbean cuisine, enjoy live reggae music from Random Test Reggae Band, and browse offerings from local craft vendors. The event also features fun activities for the whole family, including a bounce house, kids’ ATV course, henna tattoos, and sand art, along with a free interactive kids’ zone. For those 21 and over, there will be a bar serving beer, wine, and hard seltzers.

Sailfest
September 7, 10 am – 10 pm
33rd Annual Sailfest NJ is Saturday 9/7 in Island Heights along the beautiful Toms River hosted by Rotary of Toms River! Over 125 vendors plus food trucks, live music, Sailing events, kid activities and more. This is a region-wide festival for families and everyone who loves boating, sailing, sailors, or anything nautical.
9-11 Reflection Ceremony: Sailfest NJ casts off at 12pm with a special Reflection Ceremony to honor veterans, first responders, and others lost during 9-11.

Wood Street Fair
September 7, 9 am – 4 pm
Wood Street Fair is a much anticipated annual event which takes place in the midst of the Historic City of Burlington, New Jersey. Brought to you by the Colonial Burlington Foundation, this popular event draws over 25,000 visitors and is comprised of more then 175 of the areas finest artisans and crafters. Tour for free one of New Jersey’s oldest houses, the Revell House (ca. 1685), fabled site of Burlington’s hospitality to Benjamin Franklin. Feast on yummy treats such as Gingerbread, Pumpkin, Blueberry or Cranberry Breads & Gingerbread Men. Tour the Carriage House (ca. 1876) between 11:00am-4:00pm.

Food Trucktemberfest at Monmouth Park
September 7, 11 am – 5 pm
There is just one more chance to experience the best food trucks on the Jersey Shore! Attendees can enjoy free parking and admission, with live racing starting at 12:50 p.m. No advance tickets are needed. Over a dozen of the area’s top food trucks will be serving a variety of dishes, from lobster rolls to ice cream sundaes, beginning around 11 a.m. Live music will be featured from 12 to 4 p.m. Participating food trucks include The Baked Bear, Chillin’ Out, G’Day Gourmet, Good Food=Good Mood, Kee O Kee Pierogies, Lola’s, Latin Bites, Mozzarepas, Pita Bowl, Rescue Rolls Food Truck, Taste of Napoli, The Mexiboys, Tony’s Italian Sausage, and Twele Truck.

Lavallette Founders Day

Lavallette Founders Day is a community event, organized for the purpose of giving back to the community of Lavallette. Ocean County Irish Festival
September 7, 11 am – 7 pm
The 7th Annual Ocean County Irish Festival, hosted by The Order of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Ocean County Chapter, offers a fantastic day with free admission, parking, and shuttle service. Enjoy a beer garden, diverse food vendors, live Irish music, and performances by the Ocean County Emerald Society Pipes & Drum Band and Irish step dancers. The event is family and pet-friendly, featuring craft vendors, a Pot O’ Gold Playland for kids, and a super 50/50 raffle. Barrington Brews, Beats & Eats returns this fall on September 7th, taking place from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the St. Francis (Rosebud Academy) parking lot. The event will feature Miller Lite, Yuengling, Truly Hard Seltzer, and Flying Fish beers on tap, as well as Tito’s Handmade Vodka mixed drinks and Malibu bay breezes. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food options from multiple food trucks. Admission is free, but those wishing to drink must bring a valid government-issued ID and be over 21.
