We’re midway to August…where has the time gone?! New Jersey Isn’t Boring’s Guide to New Jersey Events August 8 – 10 is your go-to source for the best events happening across the Garden State! Lunar Faire: Gods and Godesses
August 9, 5 pm – 10 pm

This whimsical, all-ages event features 200+ magical vendors, fire dancing, live music, drag shows, tarot readings, a potions lab, and more—all set in a divine, mythologically themed atmosphere. Costumes are encouraged, and the event is rain or shine with parking available.

The New Jersey Sunflower Trail
All August Long, 10 am – 5 pm
The New Jersey Sunflower Trail is now open for visitors. On select weekends, expect food trucks, a beer and wine garden, live music, axe throwing, and crafters. Enjoy hayrides, an Activity Area, and additional food options, including beer from Buttzville Brewing Company. Weekday activities include exploring the sunflower trail, taking photos at over 20 spots, picking fresh raspberries and peaches, and visiting farm animals.

Salem County Fair
Now – August 8

The Salem County Fair, held from August 5-9, 2024, is a family-friendly event celebrating agricultural heritage. Located at the Salem County Fairgrounds, the fair offers livestock exhibits, agricultural displays, contests, and a variety of entertainment options. With no admission fee and $20 parking for all five days, it provides an affordable and engaging experience for all attendees

New Jersey State Fair – Sussex County Farm and Horse Show

The New Jersey State Fair – Sussex County Farm and Horse Show offers a vibrant celebration of agricultural heritage and community spirit. Middlesex County Fair

The Middlesex County Fair is a lively event that brings together the local community for a week of family-friendly fun and entertainment. Somerset County Fair

The Somerset County 4-H Fair at North Branch Park in Bridgewater, NJ, is a cherished community event that highlights the achievements of 4-H members. Summer Street Feast
August 7,  4 – 8 pm

Visit #DowntownHaddonfield on Thursday, August 7 for Summer Street Feast: a night of food, music and fun! Kings Highway will be closed to host over 10 food trucks, musical performances on the Camden County stage, and facepainting! Local businesses will be celebrating Summer Sidewalk Sale, with products on the sidewalk until 8 PM.

SModcastle Film Festival

From Kevin Smith & Friends comes a film festival so fit for a King or Queen that it can only take place in the SmodCastle! Presenting the Fourth Annual SModcastle Film Festival – a Central Jersey showcase of cinema hosted by the guy who made Clerks. Welcoming entries from all over the world, the SModcastle Film Festival will be a four day summer event filled with features, short films, animation, documentaries & more! All films will be screened by our panel of judges and selected entries will be screened at Smodcastle Cinemas over this four day event. Atlantic County Fair
August 8 & 9

The Atlantic County 4-H Fair, taking place at the Atlantic County 4-H Fairgrounds in South Egg Harbor City, NJ, offers free admission and $5 parking. The event features a car show, crab cake and chicken BBQ dinners, baby and pet parades, a pie-eating contest, and more. Ride specials are available with wristbands for $25 per day. The fair provides family-friendly fun with a variety of activities and exhibits.

A Day Out With Thomas
August 8 – 10

Time to Party with Thomas the Tank Engine! Day Out With Thomas: The Party Tour is making its way to The Delaware River Railroad Excursions offering an exciting day for the whole family. Wildwood Tattoo Beach Bash

COME GET TATTOOED! Rebel Image Tattoo and Villain Arts presents a full blown tattoo expo and show in the Wildwoods Convention Center. It’s a weekend full of incredible artistry and fun events – over 200 major national tattoo artists, live tattooing, art exhibits, contests, side shows, unique vendors and much more! Hermitage Museum Outdoor Art & Craft Fair

FesTomato! is an annual event hosted by NOFA NJ to highlight and promote NJ’s favorite summer vegetable (or fruit?) and the amazing farms and farmers that grow them. Free and open to the public, FesTomato! events are fun for the whole family, with tomato tastings, farm tours, culinary demonstrations, live music, local vendors, and more.

New Brunswick Heart Festival
August 9, 2 pm – 6 pm

This annual FREE outdoor family-friendly festival celebrates the vibrant arts and history of New Brunswick and Middlesex County. The festival features live performances by The Discoteks performing Disco and Motown hits; Afro-Peruvian music and dance by Socabón Peru Cultural Association; dance by Inspira Performing Arts & Cultural Center; George Street Playhouse; Grupo de Danza Folklórica La Sagrada Familia; singer Myles Cherette; New Brunswick Brass; Jersey Talent winner, pianist Elias Nicozisis; hustle dance instruction with Amy Garcia Phillips and the Contento Dancers; tap dancer Omar Edwards; and DJ IZM! Saltwater Day
August 9, 2 pm – 10 pm

The Old Bridge Township Department of Parks & Recreation is excited to announce the revival of Saltwater Day! The event will have arts, crafts, vendors, new rides, carnival game trailers, entertainment, food and conclude with a fireworks show. Live music will be played throughout the day. For 21 and older guests, the Laurence Harbor Fire Department will be hosting a Beer Garden for $10/person which includes a mug and two drink tickets. Additional tickets are $2 each, and proof of age is required.

Atlantic Highlands Music & Food Truck Festival
August 10, 12 pm – 8:30 pm

This lively event will feature 18 gourmet food trucks offering a wide range of delicious options, including Angry Archies, Chick Wings N Things, Empanada Mania, House of Cupcakes, Taste of Napoli, and more. A beer and sangria garden will offer selections from Lone Eagle Brewing, margaritas, daiquiris, and strawberry vodka lemonade. In addition to live music (bands TBA), attendees can enjoy vendors, face painting, and a fun-filled day by the water. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and spend the day relaxing in the sun. The event is produced by Just Jersey Fest and Atlantic Highlands Recreation.
