Winter Beach Walk
February 1, 11AM – 12:30PM
Who says the beach is only for the summertime? On the contrary, the winter months are some of the best times to go shell collecting along with a free guided walk. A Park System Naturalist joins the fun as your family enjoys collecting and identifying some of the ocean’s natural treasures. Meetup is on the beach, make sure everyone dresses warmly, and bring along something to carry shells in.

Jersey City Whiskey and Spirits Festival
February 1, 7:30PM – 10:30PM

Come enjoy a session of incredible Whiskey’s and spirits this February at the Harborside Atrium. Beautiful skyline views, live music, interactive games and incredible food for purchase. Try exotic whiskies from around the world and local spirits from some of your favorite distillers.

Milltown Mel Groundhogs Day Celebration
February 2, 7AM

A lovely tradition! 11th Annual Prediction from Milltown Mel on Groundhog Day! Start gathering outside the stage around 6:45am and join Mel’s Wranglers with buttons, noisemakers, and more. Mel will tell us his prediction around 7:20am, thene go inside for Coffee and Donuts!

West Windsor Community Farmers’ Market’s Indoor Farmer’s Market
February 2, 10AM – 1PM
Now in its 13th year, the Indoor Farmers Market attracts folks from far and wide around amazing local food and producers. Meander throughout the rooms of the Windsor Athletic Club to find winter produce, pastured meats and poultry, fresh seafood, mushrooms, artisan cheeses, sauces, jams, chocolates, wine and much more. Plan on a morning filled with good food, live music and positive vibes!

Great Beer Expo
February 2, 2 Sessions

The biggest names in brewing are getting ready for New Jersey’s biggest pre-game tailgate party. Selected as one of the “TOP TEN NJ EXPOS” by BestOfNJ.com, the Great Beer Expo is a pay-one-price beer tasting extravaganza showcasing more than 70 breweries—local hometown Jersey favorites, award-winning American craft breweries, and international trend-setters—offering tastings of more than 150 beers in all.

Free Chinese New Year Family Day
February 2, 10AM – 1PM

This event is open to the public, and will kick off with a lion dance, followed by a kung fu demonstration, student performances, dumpling making, Chinese crafts & games, and other hands-on activities. Snacks and beverages will also be provided!

Wassailing the Apple Trees Farm Festival
February 2, 1PM – 4PM
Raise a glass of hot cider as Terhune Orchards honors the trees that provide wonderful apples. The ancient British tradition of wassailing the apple trees to protect them from harm is a popular winter celebration at Terhune Orchards that you won’t want to miss! Activities include singing, dancing and playing of primitive instruments, toasts of hot cider and placing gifts of cider-soaked bread in the tree branches while chanting the lively words of praise and New Year. Warm yourself next to the bonfire (marshmallow roasting included) or in the store.  Farm wagon rides, weather permitting. Live music will be performed all afternoon. The festivities are free and open to the public, young and old.

Hunterdon Land Trust’s Winter Farmers’ Market
February 3, 11AM – 1PM

Join the Hunderdon Land Trust’s Winter Farmers’ Market which runs the first and third Sundays of every month from December to early May. New participants this year include seafood vendor, Local 130 Seafood; Aquasprouts Farm, an aquaponics farm with lettuce and kale; Oak Grove Angus Farms with beef; Picklelicious, who offers an incredible assortment of pickles and olives; and Will’s Amazing Vegan Burgers. They’ll also host a number of returning farmers and vendors including Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Comeback Farm, Sandbrook MeadowFarm, WoodsEdge Farm, Fired Up Flatbread Co., Purely Farm, Fieldstone Coffee Roasters and River Lea House.
