The Fly Fishing Show

LBI Restaurant Week

LBI Restaurant Week is back! Initiated by the Facebook group Long Beach Island BITES, this yearly gathering has swiftly evolved into a cherished tradition, extending its popularity beyond the island. Noteworthy participation from restaurants in Barnegat, Manahawkin, and Tuckerton adds to the allure, with these eateries presenting special menus and deals to enhance the festive atmosphere.

Mount Holly Fire & Ice Festival
January 27, 10 am – 4 pm
Downtown Mount Holly’s annual event! The highlight of the event is the participation of over ten skilled Ice Carvers, each sculpting 600 lbs of ice, accompanied by a dozen chili chefs serving the finest in Burlington County. Thousands of spectators, including those from the Tri-State area and beyond, gather to partake in the festivities.

Rahway Soup Stroll
January 27, 1 pm – 4 pm
Warm up this winter with some delicious soups! On Saturdays in January (6, 13, 20, & 27) from 1-4pm, individuals can bundle up and visit participating restaurants for a taste of their featured soups. The experience requires no registration, as it is a free event! To participate, one should visit the chosen restaurant, ask for a Soup Stroll Sample, and receive a free 4oz sample of the featured soup. Participants can then stroll outside to savor their soup, take a Souper Selfie at the establishment for a chance to enter the photo contest, and proceed to the next participating restaurant to repeat the enjoyable experience. By taking a Souper Selfie and entering a drawing, participants stand a chance to win one of four $25 Gift Certificates to their favorite participating Rahway Restaurant. To enter, individuals need to visit participating restaurants, snap a picture with their soup at that restaurant, and post it to their Instagram Feed or Story. Tagging @rahwayishappening and the restaurant (if they have an account) will earn them an entry into the drawing, with one entry allowed per Instagram account. For a bonus entry, participants can post a photo with an additional purchase they make at a participating restaurant and tag @rahwayishappening and the restaurant.

Clinton’s 15th Annual Yuletide Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza

In its 15th year, the Town of Clinton’s Annual Yuletide Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza is a cherished event that unites residents of all ages for a cozy evening of community spirit. Families from the local area can break free from their winter routines to enjoy a night filled with camaraderie, hot chocolate, carriage rides, and the focal point—a grand bonfire. The fireworks display, sponsored by K.M. Gomes and Sons HVAC and provided by Garden State Fireworks, adds a dazzling touch to the festivities. The event also features hay rides courtesy of the Clinton Community Farmers Market, as well as complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, marshmallow roasting, and music—all made possible through the generosity of sponsors and vendors. Attendees are encouraged to contribute by bringing a canned food item for the Open Cupboard Food Pantry.

Unionville Vineyard’s Winter Artisan Market

Wassailing the Apple Trees

Join Terhune Orchards in a celebration of the apple trees with a glass of hot cider, as they partake in the ancient British tradition of wassailing. This popular winter event involves singing, dancing, toasting with hot cider, and placing cider-soaked bread in tree branches for good luck in the New Year. Led by the Handsome Molly Dancers and Kingessing Morris Dancers, attendees can join in festive singing and dancing to ensure a fruitful harvest in 2024. Warm up by the bonfire with marshmallow roasting and enjoy live music by Spiced Punch throughout the afternoon.
