Special Event: Odie Henderson Book Talk + Shaft
February 2, 7 pm

The celebration of Black History Month continues with a special evening featuring author Odie Henderson and the iconic film SHAFT on February 2. The event includes a discussion by Mr. Henderson on his new book, “Black Caesars and Foxy Cleopatras: A History of Blaxpoitation Cinema,” following a one-night-only screening of the 1971 classic SHAFT. Attendees can purchase tickets for the event, which include a signed copy of Mr. Henderson’s book, available after the post-screening Q&A. Alternatively, tickets for the movie with Q&A only are also offered, primarily intended for companions but available to all. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the screening and Q&A session.

Holy Trinity Winter Feast 2024

Atlantic City Wing Fest

Winter Fire & Ice Festival

Maple Sugaring at the Environmental Education Center
February 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18. 24, & 25

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the process of tapping trees, observe both historical and current sap-collecting methods, and witness the boiling process that results in the creation of delectable New Jersey maple syrup. The outdoor program, lasting 60 minutes, takes place at the Sugar Shack, located a ½-mile hike from the EEC. It is advised that attendees arrive at the EEC 30-40 minutes prior to the program’s commencement to acquire tickets and embark on the hike to the Sugar Shack, where they will meet their Naturalist. Suitable attire for prevailing weather conditions is recommended, and wearing boots is advisable, given the potential for wet, muddy, and/or snow-covered trails.

Winter’s Day on the Farm

Fosterfields Living Historical Farm is happy to present its annual family-friendly winter event. Help the staff saw wood, pet the cows, and see a cooking demonstration in a 1915 Farmhouse. Seaside Heights Polar Bear Plunge
February 24, Registration begins at 9 am

Each year, the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside challenges thousands of brave jumpers from around the state. It’s a great way for everyone–individuals, teams, organizations and businesses–to get involved supporting Special Olympics New Jersey. All funds raised go towards programming and events for thousands of athletes statewide.

Mac and Cheese Fest

Get ready for a delightfully cheesy experience at the Morristown Armory on February 24, 2024! Nerd Fest

Nerd Fest is set to make its return to the Holiday Inn in Swedesboro on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring Comic Book Artists, Writers, Creators, Authors, and Vendors. The event will showcase a diverse range of items including Comic Books, Toys, Anime, Funko Pops, Art, NON-Sport Trade Cards, Lego, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Crafts, Collectibles, and more. Attendees can look forward to engaging with cosplay groups, interactive activities for both youngsters and participants, as well as photo opportunities with photographers offering packages and green screen backgrounds for Cosplayers. Highlands Business Partnership’s Chili Cook Off fundraiser
February 25, 3 pm – 7 pm

The Highlands Business Partnership presents its Chili Cook Off fundraiser on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 3-7 PM at the Quarterdeck at Seastreak, 326 Shore Dr., Highlands, NJ. Priced at $40.00, tickets grant access to chili samplings, two beer tickets, and two voting ballots. The event will feature bagpipe bands and Daly’s Irish Dancers. Proceeds will support the 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 23rd at 2 PM, starting at Huddy Park Highlands, NJ. The Chili Cook Off includes both a “Professional” Cook Off (commercial) at 4 PM and an “Amateur” Cook Off (residents) at 5 PM. Attendees can taste each chili, cast their votes, and witness the announcement of winners at 5:30 PM. Prizes await the winners in each category, alongside the People’s Choice determined by an independent panel of judges.
