Passaic County Fair – Aug 18-21
Passaic County holds an annual County Fair on Garret Mountain. This year (2016) the fair will be held from August 18th to August 21st. The hours on Thursday/Friday are 6pm-11pm and Saturday/Sunday 3pm to 11pm

Newark Comic Con – Aug 20
Newark Comic Con is the premeire pop culture event in the state of New Jersey. Featuring comic books, graphic novels, anime, video games, toys, manga, celebrities, and movies and so much more.

The Canal Day Music & Craft Festival – Aug 20
The Canal Day Festival is an old time country fair that celebrates the Morris Canal and its contributions to the development of the communities along its banks. Enjoy a day of listening to musical performances from New Jersey’s best artists featuring 10 bands performing Rock, Blues, Country, Classical as well as Traditional and Contemporary Irish Folk Music performing on two stages. Take a Free Kayak & Narrated Boat Ride on the Morris Canal, learn about local history and visit a Civil War Encampment. The Wallaby Tales Traveling Zoo will delight children of all ages. Take a Hay Ride and learn the art of Blacksmithing, or just lay back with some great food while browsing through over 150 hand made Fine Crafts and Jewelry vendors. A fabulous Fireworks show will conclude the day‘s activities.

Edison Food Truck Festival – Aug 20
Join the Edison Chamber of Commerce for the first ever Edison Food Truck Festival. More than 20 gourmet food trucks to tantalize your taste buds, plus craft beer — including Edison’s own Cypress Brewery! — and wine bar, and a great DJ to top off the event. Kids rides, too!
The Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is essentially a huge tailgate party. Bring blankets, chairs, or whatever you need to get comfortable (within reason, of course — no leather couches!). Of course, no outside food or drink or backpacks.

Manahopkin – August 20

Toms River Art in the Park – Aug 20
Be sure to check out the 4th Annual Art in the Park(temporary re-location this year is on the grounds of the Ocean County Municipal Parking Garage across from the Ocean County Historical Society on Hadley Ave.) Stroll the grounds and experience many different types of visual artists, poets, performance artists, musicians, and more. Last years event featured over 50 visual artists, 6 poets, and 8 bands as well as several special events.
