New Jersey Band to Award Free Holiday Performance to One Nonprofit Organization

New Jersey rock and soul band GoodWorks announced it will award a free holiday party band performance and $100 donation to one nonprofit organization through the GoodWorks “Rock Your Holiday” Contest.  To enter, nonprofits and their supporters must submit their email addresses and “like” the GoodWorks Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GoodWorksBand by 8 p.m. on November 30, 2015.

“There are so many great nonprofits out there doing good works. We want to make more nonprofits aware of how we can help them. The nonprofit’s staff members or supporters can nominate their favorite organization as a thank you for the services the nonprofit provides,” said GoodWorks band leader Paul Lavenhar who resides in Scotch Plains.

GoodWorks helps nonprofit organizations by donating its performances and providing marketing support for events.  The Highland Park High School Orchestra, Bridgeway Rehabilitation, Alternatives, Bedminster Charities Fall Fest, Heart Hike and the Two Kids Foundation are among the organizations helped by GoodWorks in the last year.

GoodWorks was inspired by the success of its “NJ Diner Tour,” where band members raised $7,500 by playing in 21 diners in 48 hours to promote food banks across the state. The band is launching a contest to make more nonprofits aware of its services.

To enter the contest, the nonprofit must be an active 501 (c) 3 organization. The performance must take place by December 22, 2015 after business hours.

GoodWorks is the charitable arm of PL Communications, a New Jersey-based marketing communications firm.
