Getting Social at Montclair Social Club!
It’s not too often that my husband and I get to have a classy night out, so when we got an invitation to check out Monclair Social Club we jumped at the chance.
Situated in downtown Montclair, Montclair Social Club is a new, beautiful restaurant that is the perfect evening out for cocktails, great food, and live music. Every night the restaurant features jazz musicians making the experience a dinner with a show.
Their expertly crafted cocktails are a must! I enjoyed two cocktails – “No More Pain” (dark bourbon, rum, banana, black cherry, tiki bitters) and the “Lost my Wallet in El Segundo” (Tequila, passion fruit, cucumber, yellow bell pepper, lemon, and Hell fire bitters).
Their menu has something for everyone (including my picky husband) from their appetizers to their salads, seafood, and butcher’s block. Because we went to Montclair Social Club with a group (to be social!) we shared a bunch of appetizers including:
– Crab Cake “Tots” prepared with Summer Corn Relish, Frisee, and Chipotle Remoulade
– Mediterranean Flatbread made with Hummus, Portabello, Arugula , Charred Tomato, Zatar, and Goat Cheese
– Roasted Carrot and Shisito Peppers prepped with Feta Cheese, Spiced Almonds, and Citrus Mostard
– Deviled Eggs made with Smoked Salmon, Bacon, Pickled Shallot, and Jalapeno
– Acacia Honey Glazed Corn Bread with Whipped Ricotta and Glazed Corn (Soooooooooo good)
– and Mike’s Champion Meatballs made with Pomodoro Sauce, Basil, and Grana Padano with a side of Garlic Crositini
For my main meal I ordered the Sushi-Grade Tuna with a side of Wild Mushroom Fried Rice and Baby Bok Choy, and topped with a Yuzu-soy Glaze.
My husband ordered “The MSC Burger”, a Handcrafted C.A.B. Blend of Chuck, Brisket & Short Rib, Smoked Gouda, Bacon Jam, Avocado Ranch on a Brioche Bun with a side of Truffe-herb Parmesan Fries. I loved that they branded their bun!
If your meal does not come with their truffle fries, I highly recommend getting it as a side dish to share (or not). They are delicious!
We still made room for dessert and split their epic Ricotta Zeppole Tree topped with Warm Chocolate and Strawberries with a side of Cotton Candy. It looked like a small beautiful tree! It was too pretty to eat, but we did it anyway.
I also got my own dessert, the Lemon Meringue Tart topepd with Candied Pistachio, Basil Crumble with a side of Blackberry Sorbet. It was DELICIOUS.
As an added bonus, I also got to see the band perform the Game of Thrones theme song as a jazz number. It was exciting to recognize that tune.
Overall Montclair Social Club is an amazing place to spending the evening whether it’s date night, family night, or a group outing.
