Montclair House Grill and Diner: Review

Located on Church St in the heart of Downtown Montclair sits the Monctlair House Grill, formally known as Manny’s Diner. I visited the diner for a quick dinner before seeing a show at the nearby Wellmont Theater.

The diner itself is small and cozy, and because it’s been recently remodeled it’s really nice and clean! They even have murals on the walls depicting their hometown which I found very lovely.

Bonus: When it’s warm outside they also have outdoor seating!

Their menu, which they consider to be fine dining, has a little bit of everything and more!

Here are some items that stood out to me on the menu:
– OMG French Toast (dollops of sweet marscapone cheese, walnuts in maple syrup, caramel drizzle, and chopped applewood bacon)
– BBQ Pork Omelette
– Halloumi Cheese Omelette (served with mint)
– Avocado with Sriracha Toast
– Homemade Turkey Burger
– Fried Goat Cheese Salad
– Tacos

After much consideration I ended up getting something I tend to get at a NJ Diner, a chicken quesadilla.

What made this quesadilla special was that it was big enough to share, had lots of veggies inside, and came with a trifecta of dipping sides including guacamole.

My dining companion (aka my mom) got their homemade chili (without cheese) which came with a side of tortilla chips. The Montclair House Grill makes all their own soups and chili, including my favorite soup…matzoh ball!

I truly enjoyed my visit to the Montclair House Grill and highly recommend it for a meal while shopping in downtown Montclair!
