Lunar Faire’s Pride Celebration Promises a Night of Rainbows, Magic, and Mayhem
New Jersey’s beloved bi-monthly night market, Lunar Faire, is back — and this time, it’s going full rainbow. Known for its quirky, witchy, and whimsical gatherings under the moonlight, the upcoming faire on Friday, June 13th, promises to be one for the books with a Pride celebration packed with color, creativity, and community.
The Rainbow Situation is set to be a centerpiece of the evening. While Lunar Faire has hosted its share of vibrant performances and shimmering spectacles, this event is raising the stakes with not one, but two giant inflatable rainbows — and an ambitious plan to create the world’s largest human rainbow. Attendees are encouraged to either don their boldest rainbow attire or dress head-to-toe in a single color of the spectrum. At a key moment during the night, participants will assemble by color to form a living, breathing rainbow — one that might even get captured by drone for posterity. Whether it turns out to be utterly magical, charmingly cheesy, or delightfully chaotic, it’s guaranteed to be unforgettable.
In addition to the rainbow revelry, this faire features a packed lineup of activities and entertainment, including:
– Human Slot Machine to raise funds for Sussex County Pride
– Drag Show hosted by Sussex County Pride
– Amateur Drag Showcase led by the fabulous Cookie Doe, inviting first-timers to give it a go
– Ordinary Kids performing selections from Rocky Horror and other classics
– Gay Rave to keep the party going
– Archery Demo
– The return of Gender Fluid and new concoctions at the Potions Lab

And of course, Lunar Faire regulars can expect all the beloved oddities and enchantments that make this market a must-visit, including:
– A diverse group of fun vendors
– Astrological heckling by Doctor Witch
– Fire and variety show by Diiiotima
– Music from Marin Contini
– A gallery reading by Shauna the Amazing Tap Dancing Medium
– Sound healing, drum circles, name bestowing, fairy hair, henna, face painting, and more
– A rotating cast of surprise performers, aerialists, and sideshow acts

Parking is free and available on-site, with carpooling encouraged to maximize space. Attendees are advised to bring flashlights, comfy shoes, and their most whimsical or witchy garb. A drum for the community circle, a book for the magickal exchange, and a reusable bag for market treasures are also recommended.
This all-weather event is rain or shine, with the only cancellations for severe weather or impassable parking fields (though Lunar Faire jokingly assures us their blizzard wizard is on retainer).
Tickets are $25 at the gate, but presale discounts are available — and given the buzz around this Pride celebration, snapping them up early is highly encouraged.
Whether you’re a longtime Lunar Faire devotee or a curious newcomer, this gathering promises a perfect blend of queer joy, magickal mischief, and communal connection under the stars.
