My June in New Jersey!
My June in New Jersey went by FAST! Here is a list of awesome things I did this past month to give you ideas on what YOU can do in New Jersey! For more adventures, be sure to follow me on Instagram @newjerseyisntboring and Snapchat: NJISNTBORING.
June 2nd – I started by June off right by seeing Nerdist creator, @Midnight and Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Great show!
June 3rd – On June 3rd I went Hatchet Throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House, a cool new hatchet throwing venue in Eatontown, NJ. It took me a while, but I finally hit the target. After that, I was addicted.
After showing off my hatchet throwing skills I developed an appetite and checked out Apella Greek Taverna, a Greek restaurant also in Eatontown. Delicious!
June 4th – In the morning I went to check out the East Brunswick Art and Farmer’s Market featuring local food and local art which was a lot of fun. You can see more pictures HERE.
It was a HOT day, so I went to grab some ice cream at one of my favorite ice cream places, Milltown Ice Cream Depot. For more info on my ice cream quest, click HERE.
The day continued at River Fest in Red Bank, where we listed to live music down by the marina. It was a beautiful night in Red Bank.
We ended the night at Dublin House in downtown Red Bank, and although I wasn’t hungry I can never say no to buffalo wings.
June 5th – Busy day in Warren County! I met up with friends to the River Star Diner in Hackettstown for a delicious Greek Chicken Gyro. For a review on the diner, click HERE.
We went to two breweries in Hackettstown that day, starting with Man Skirt Brewing Co in the downtown area. For a full review, click HERE
Our next stop was at Jersey Girl Brewing Co also in Hakcettstown, where we got a great tour by the co-founders. For more info on that, click HERE
And what would a day be like without ice cream? We stopped by Mount Olive’s Das’ Creamery for endless samples and delicious homemade ice cream. I got the scoop on this local ice cream shop! For a full review with information on Das’ Creamery, click HERE
June 7th – I woke up early and voted!!
June 8th – I was very lucky and had the opportunity to visit Nasto’s in Newark, an ice cream establishment that has been here since the 1930s. I got to try amazing ice cream including Sweet Corn and Holy Cannoli. For a full review with information on Nasto’s, click HERE
June 10th – I headed to LBI to pick up press passes for the Lighthouse International Film Festival and got to see some amazing films! For more information on LIFF, click HERE.
We had a BIG day in LBI including big pizza from Harvey Cedars Pizza Shack.
And we enjoyed a nature hike by the LBIF and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
June 11th – I returned to LIFF, but not before hitting up Shore Good Donuts in Ship Bottom! Amazing donuts made to order. They even make donut sundaes!
In between films I traveled to Mustache Bill’s Diner for lunch (Review Here) before heading to Barnegat Lighthouse State Park.
Yes, we traveled all the way up the lighthouse!
We saw some more films before we ended our stay in LBI, but not before stopping by Skipper Dipper for ice cream before heading home.
June 12th – I grabbed lunch with friends at Sahara Restaurant in New Brunswick (Rutgers University area) and walked around. The area is SO different without college students.
June 13th – The New Jersey Isn’t Boring Donut debuted at Purple Glaze in Asbury Park! We had a lot of fun promoting the donut. The porkroll donut is on sale until July 13th and proceeds will go to help Tails of Hope and Sammy’s Hope Rescue.
June 16th – We attend Cocktail Event hosted by a new business called the Cocktail Caravan. For more info on them, click HERE
We also stopped by the opening of Jughandle Brewing Co in Tinton Falls, NJ. More more information on them, click HERE
And…Cone Zone in Neptune for ice cream!
July 17th – I stopped by Sammy’s Hope in Sayreville to show off the NJ Isn’t Boring donut. I hope we raise a lot of money for them!
June 18th – Purple Glaze and Tails of Hope held an Outreach Event for the NJ Isn’t Boring Donut.
June 19th – A new diner to review! I visited the Mini Mac Diner in Chester, NJ for some fried chicken! So good. Review posted this Sunday.
June 20th – Anna aka An Aussie in NJ and I toured new The Asbury Hotel in Asbury Park. For a full review, click HERE.
We ended our night with epic grilled cheese at Kim Marie’s Eat N’ Drink Away in Asbury Park. SO good.

June 25th – We held another Outreach Event for the NJ Isn’t Boring Donut at Purple Glaze where I gave away free donuts. If you missed it…sorry! For more pictures, click HERE
I also got a chance to visit Tower Dogs, a new restaurant in Robbinsville, NJ for creative gourmet hot dogs (which they make themselves). In addition to hot dogs, they make falafel, chicken sandwiches, salads, HUMMUS NACHOS, and more!
June 29th – I traveled to 256 degrees in Millburn for Cryotherapy. Yes, that’s me being “cool”. Very unique experience…I would recommend it!
Afterwords I traveled to the Millburn Diner. Review coming next month.
And finally…
ICE CREAM. I enjoyed oreo and cookie dough ice cream (two cookie flavors!) at the Magic Fountain in Union, NJ.
In conclusion my June was filled once again with food(especially diners and ice cream), beaches, donuts, beer, and much more! My July calendar is already getting pretty filled. Looking forward to the rest of Summer!
