The Huck Finn Diner in Union: Review
My friend and fellow New Jersey diner enthusiast Hollie (FueledbyLOLZ) and I like to get together at diners to catch up and review them. This time we decided to meet at the Huck Finn Diner, located in Union, New Jersey.
We went on a very rainy Thursday afternoon, and although the weather outside was dreary, the atmosphere inside the Huck Finn diner definitely cheered us up.
Their menu has a lot to choose from, and it made it hard to ultimately make a decision. In addition to traditional diner food, they also have design your own pasta bowl, a list of specialty “better” burgers (lots of unique choices), an impressive breakfast list, and a full list of Potatoes ranging from specialty fries, baked potatoes, and potato skins.
Because I can never resist an amazing diner lunch deal, I got one of their blackboard specials which came with soup, salad, and coffee.
It seems like salad bars are becoming extinct at New Jersey diners, but the Huck Finn Diner has an impressive salad bar with lots of salad toppings and pasta salads.

For my soup I got matzoh ball soup, my personal favorite. The soup was perfect for a cold, rainy day.
For my entree I got the crab cake which came with a choice of potato and remoulade sauce. It was very tasty!
All and all, my entire meal cost me only $10.95. AND I had unlimited coffee, which was a great added touch.
Hollie decided to get their signature salad, the “Huck Finn Salad” which was arugula, apples, walnuts, blue cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette. She topped it with salmon. How good does this look?
The Huck Finn Diner also has a full bar which serves up beer, wine, and cocktails if you’re in need of a drink with your meal. They even have their own signature “Huck Finn Martini” (Absolut citron, Smirnoff raspberry, Malibu rum, & cranberry lemonade).
And don’t forget dessert! The Huck Finn diner has an impressive dessert display including giant elephant ears, assorted cheesecakes, and pies.
Overall a great diner to visit in Union County! I have nothing but nice things to say about my trip to the Huck Finn Diner.
