New Jersey Diner Review #293: The Hibernia Diner in Rockaway, NJ
While venturing in the Morris County area, my husband and I made a stop at the very popular Hibernia Diner in Rockaway, NJ.
The diner is family owned by two brothers who immigrated from Greece. For over 20 years they have been running the Hibernia Diner making eclectic and homemade meals.
The Hibernia Diner has recently been updated giving it a very modern look. The interior decor is quite beautiful with new booths, lighting fixtures and more.
Items that stood out to be on their menu included:
– Very Berry Cranberry French Toast
– Pastrami Seasoned Smoked Salmon Deluxe Platter
– Fork and Knife “Groovy” Grilled Cheese
– Bavarian Pretzel Chicken Tenders
– Short Rib Nachos
– Grilled Chicken Muffaletta
– the Big Phat Greek Lamb burger
– The Vesuvius Cheesecake
– Lemonchello Marscapone
– Key Lime Pie
…and more
It’s a perfectly sized menu! They have enough options without feeling overwhelmed.
They also make their own soda!
I decided to keep my option simple by getting a cup of their homemade matzoh ball soup (delicious).
As well as turkey on rye, since I was craving it. Sure it’s not the most exciting meal, but it was very good and I left feeling satisfied.
Additionally the Hibernia Diner provides high-quality, healthy food to the “The Homeless Bus,” a program that delivers food to men, women, and children in New York City, so when you’re dining you are supporting a very charitable diner.
