Is your favorite four-letter word FREE? Of course, it is! Good thing there’s plenty of free, fun entertainment going on in NJ all month long in June. Be sure to put these free events (which include fireworks, festivals, and more) on your calendar.

The Haddonfield Skirmish 2023
June 3
Redcoats will charge, horses may rear, muskets will be fired. On Saturday, June 3, 2023, an exciting reenactment event will take place in Haddonfield, NJ. The British will invade and be challenged on Kings Highway by colonial troops. General Washington has ordered the militia to “annoy” the Redcoats, and we shall do so, with gusto.

Rockabilly Uprising
June 3, 10 am – 5 pm
Rockabilly Uprising is a homegrown Smithville festival celebrating rockabilly music and pin-up culture throughout New Jersey and beyond. Come out and enjoy live bands, contests, vendors and more. Set in Historic Smithville, amid 60 shops, restaurants and lodging.

Paterson Preservation Fair
June 3, 11 am – 3 pm
The city of Paterson, in partnership with Regional Plan Association, Passaic County, New Jersey Community Development Corporation, The Paterson Museum, and The National Park Service, are hosting the Paterson Preservation Fair on Saturday, June 3rd, 11AM – 3PM (rain date Sunday, June 4th). This is a free event celebrating Paterson’s multicultural heritage through food, art, oral histories, talks, and other family-friendly activities! It’s back! The newest edition to the JC foodie scene is a hyper local, evening market that’s hosted at City Hall – City of Jersey City. Celebrate small business and all that is chill about Jersey City. Eat delicious and international bites, shop from our artists and artisans & vibe to some music.

Jersey City Jazz Festival
June 3 & 4
The largest jazz festival in the tri-state area is a Jersey City-wide that features over 300 musicians performing on stages, in clubs, and in parks, with the overwhelming majority of the events free-to-the-public. The festival is a celebration not only of music, but of community. People from all walks of life gather at events throughout the city to party to an eclectic outpouring of music.

Art at the Esplanade

Art at the Esplanade, Mountain Lakes’ annual juried arts and crafts show, will return to town on Sunday, June 4th, 2023 from 11 am to 5 pm at 11 Elm Road in Mountain Lakes. Visitors can stroll through the tree-lined heart of the borough, where more than 45 emerging and established artists will feature original paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture and more. All art is available for sale.

The Jersey City Record Riot
June 10, 9 am – 6 pm
It’s the return of the Jersey City Record Riot! Outdoors on the Grove Street PATH Plaza! Over 40 tables of LPs, CDs, 45s and more. Great music all day long. Free admission. Dealers from all over the New York area and beyond. GREAT live DJs, vintage clothes, jewelry and more. Come hang on the plaza and dig for vinyl with your friends.

Stafford Founders Day
June 10, 10 am – 9:30 pm, Rain date June 11
This year’s theme is “Surfs Up, Stafford”! Stafford Founders Day kicks off with a hometown parade at 10 a.m., leaving from the Fire House on Stafford Avenue and heading towards Route 9 North. All other festivities will take place at the Doc Cramer Sports Complex. The event also includes the crowning of Little Miss Stafford, Little Town Crier, Junior Miss Stafford and Miss Stafford. Entertainment will be provided by Ridgemont High. There will be food trucks, vendors and rides. The day will end with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

South Jersey’s History Fair
June 10, 10 am – 4 pm
The goal of South Jersey’s History Fair is to provide a networking opportunity while exposing and piquing the interest of the public to what local South Jersey history has to offer. This free event will be held on the historic grounds of the Gabreil Daveis Tavern Museum House. Exhibitors include authors, historic committees and groups from counties across all of South Jersey.

The Passaic County Book Festival
June 10, 11 am – 4 pm
The Passaic County Book Festival will be an all-day event, featuring local authors, scholars, and poets across every genre. The event is a county-wide event that aims to promote and bring awareness to the arts and community through exchanging ideas, encouragement of continued research and creative expression, and the promotion of your local libraries. The County is partnered with PALS Plus to bring lectures, programs, and activities for all ages, centered around the written word. Robbinsville Community Festival

This family event features live music played from the main stage, a beer tent, a food court, games, contests, bounce castles, a rock-climbing wall, food trucks, a children’s train, and pony rides. The grand finale will be the fireworks display at dusk.

Collingswood’s Second Saturday

Enjoy live music and art in Collingswood! Second Saturday was started by a collection of store owners that had an interest in promoting the arts in Collingswood. Each month from March to December visitors can plan a night on the town to experience the unique arts, music, shopping and dining Collingswood is known for. As always, Second Saturdays are free and there are local artists and musicians on Haddon Avenue. Just arrive & enjoy the culture.

C.H.A.A.C.A. Juneteenth Parade and Festival

A Parade & Festival of remembrance and celebration of Juneteenth, the day when enslaved African Americans from the south gained freedom after the Civil War June 19, 1865. Performances, vendors, food trucks, music, and more. The parade begins at 10 a.m and the festival starts immediately after.

Sand sculpting lessons with Matthew Deibert, Margate Fire Departments Cool Blast, Kid’s Treasure Hunt, limbo contests, surf lessons with Stacey’s Surf Camp, Air Circus Kite Shop single/double line stunt kite demonstrations and lessons, and WAWA Margate giveaways.
