Forgotten Boardwalk’s “Spice of Life” Event Will Raising Money for Kidney Donations

On Sunday, January 27th, 2019, Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing will be holding their annual charity event to raise awareness about the benefits of organ donation.  The Spice of Life was first created by the brewery in 2014 to commemorate the anniversary of Forgotten Boardwalk’s own Seth Dolled’s living kidney donation to his mother Sharon.

This year marks the 13th anniversary of the successful donation.  A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards The National Kidney Foundation as well as The Gift of Life Donor Program, who will be on site to help people register as an organ donor during the event using an onsite kiosk.  A total of 37 attendees last year registered on the spot to become organ donors and we hope that number rises this year.

This event will have specialty made “spiced up” beers, including the original favorite, Lady #8 (Our What the Butler Saw brewed with Watermelon, Basil & Spiced with a blend of spicy peppers) – available on draft and in 16oz four pack cans for the first time.

Also available will be Lady #5 – What the Butler Saw conditioned with lemongrass & lime zest, available for the first time since October, 2016.  Brand new to this years’ event is Lady #16 (What the Butler Saw conditioned with peach & pineapple) and Lady #17 (What the Butler Saw conditioned with grapefruit & juniper berries, inspired by a Negroni cocktail).

Beers from Forgotten Boardwalk’s classic lineup such as Funnel Cake (Nitro also available), What the Butler Saw, 1916 Shore Shiver, seasonal selections Fake Radio War (West Coast IPA) and Last Brunch (Coffee Porter w/Cinnamon & Vanilla) +more will be on tap for the event.  Hog Day Afternoon BBQ & Catering Food Truck will be located off our licensed premise for the event as well.

Having fun and maintaining an active lifestyle are an important aspect of this annual event and this year in the warehouse (open to those 21+ only) will be a 9 hole mini golf course as well as a game of Giant Operation, a large than life size version of the childhood classic game.
