Downtown Bloomfield Hosts First Food Tour of the Summer on July 16, 2022
Bloomfield Center Alliance is preparing for its 1st Food Tour of the summer on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 2-4:30 PM. The rich menu of samples has flavors from all over the world – with new cuisine and some classic recipes.
This adventure for foodies through Bloomfield Center’s business district will include a guided walking tour, stopping at four restaurants for scrumptious bites. The event will provide an opportunity for guests to connect with chefs and owners and have a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
The food-filled trek will begin at Bloomfield’s historic Lackawanna Train Station. A lively, experienced guide will lead the tour along with staff from the Bloomfield Center Alliance sharing information on the history of the area alongside updates on events and new developments within Bloomfield Center.
The Food Tour is one of several events highlighting Bloomfield Center this summer. Dinner Under the Stars, a popular al fresco dining event with live entertainment, that takes place on Washington Street has already begun and will run through mid-October and so has Cruise Night Car Shows which bring classic automobiles and cool tunes to Broad Street through the end of July. BCA programs such as these rely in part on corporate partners, including Clara Maass Medical Center which is the primary sponsor of the downtown Food Tours.
“We have been running food tours in Bloomfield Center since 2019 and the energy we get from attendees and the Bloomfield Center restaurateurs is just amazing,” says Ollyn Lettman, Director of the Bloomfield Center Alliance. “We have two brand new restaurants joining this month’s tour and we’re excited for people to get to know them.”
7 Doors Down, one of these new stops, is a ramen shop that pairs Peruvian and Japanese flavors. The restaurant was just recently featured in North Jersey.com as one of 8 North Jersey must-try restaurants.
Luis Blasini-Sinchi, head chef at 7 Doors Down shared, “We want to show Bloomfield and our diners a new experience – a blend of two cultures that many people weren’t aware of. We offer a new gastronomy and dining experience for people in the area. The food that we provide is a representation of ourselves – it’s simple, straight to the point and enticing. The restaurant is an open kitchen concept, we’re not trying to hide anything, what you see is what you get with us. There is no hidden curtain.”
The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center involves short walks between each participating restaurant. The tour locations include Bloomfield Steak & Seafood, Bucco, So Juicy! and 7 Doors Down Ramen Co.
Participants will leave satisfied from a perfect dining experience, informed about Bloomfield’s vibrant downtown, and with a few giveaways and materials about Bloomfield Center.
