About the Show

Three couples, one hotel room – Hilarity abounds in this portrait of three couples successively occupying a suite at the Plaza. A suburban couple take the suite while their house is being painted and it turns out to be the one in which they honeymooned years before. This awry tale of marriage in tatters is followed by the exploits of a Hollywood producer who, after three marriages, is looking for fresh fields. He calls a childhood sweetheart, now a suburban housewife, for a little sexual diversion. Over the years she has idolized him from afar and is now more than the match he bargained for. The last couple is a mother and father fighting about the best way to get their daughter out of the bathroom and down to the ballroom where guests await her or as Mother yells, “I want you to come out of that bathroom and get married!”

Neil FitzPatrick directs. The show runs Nov 7-Nov 22. Friday and Saturday shows at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The new phone number for DLT ticket reservations is 212 868 4444 That is a direct line to Smarttix. Reservations directly to DLT are only being taken for subscribers.

About the Dover Little Theatre

Many people are unaware of an intimate little theatre nestled in the hills of Dover called, of all things, The Dover Little Theatre. We are always shocked when folks walk in for the first time stating that they are long-time residents of Dover or surrounding towns and never heard of us! Well, truth be told, in most cases, we’ve been here longer than they have been. We’ve just been waiting for them… The theatre itself seats 100 people, allowing audiences one of the most intimate theatre experiences in Morris County. DLT produces four mainstage productions per season, utilizing the talents of local actors, actresses, producers, directors and many other volunteers.

DLT was established in 1933 through the efforts of a dedicated group of theatre enthusiasts who sought to establish a “home” for theatrical arts and artists. The first season (1933/34) included three plays, one of which was “Lady Windermere’s Fan” (pictured). Since then, over 300 successive plays have been produced!
