Diner Round Up – JB’s Diner in Freehold
Johnny B’s Diner, or JBs Diner, in Freehold is a 50’s style diner off of Route 537.
The last time I went to this diner was almost 8 years ago since it used to be on my route to work. However, now that I’ve “re-discovered” it, I will definitely be coming back.
I’ve never had so much trouble deciding on what to get as my meal. All their breakfast options sounded good, they had stuffed burgers which had won awards for “best burger in NJ”, panini options and really good specials. What I finally decided on, after much back and forth, was a chicken francese DIP (like a French Dip) mainly because I had never seen it on a menu before. As soon as the waitress took my order she told me I made an excellent choice. Go me!
Here is the sandwich in all it’s glory. And yes, it was amazing:
My husband got one of the stuffed burgers. It was filled with cheddar cheese and bacon, then topped with more cheese and bacon. It was called the American Burger. Basically it was a heart attack in burger form. He survived. It looked amazing.
This diner is great and they do a lot of cruise nights. I highly suggest you go there if you’re in the area.
My recommendation: BRING CASH. They do not accept credit cards. Ya dig?
