Sip Happens at Cream Ridge Winery

One of my favorite places to visit in Monmouth County is Cream Ridge Winery located in Cream Ridge, NJ. The winery, which openedin 1988, is open every day for wine tasting and sales.

Cream Ridge Winery

Cream Ridge Winery was founded by Tom & Joan Amabile in 1988. Their motto was to make small batches of wine in their own special way. At the winery you will definitely find wines you have never witnessed before. Today Tim and Jackie Schlitzemanage manage the winery and merge the Amabile and Schlitzer families together as they move forward to the next 30 years.

I decided to visit the winery with friends for my birthday this year. Knowing that they have wines for every palate, I felt this was a perfect place to experience with them. For only $5 you can taste up to 10 wines in their tap room. NJIB Tip: If you are a group of 8 or more, a reservation is required.

The weather that day was perfect, so we decided to sit outside and enjoy the sun and the live music. Their outside area has plenty of seating which was great since our friends brought their kids and we brought our dog, Peppy!

Since I’ve been there many times, I decided to skip the tasting and went straight for the bottles. Their Kiwine had recently been released for the season so we started there.

A wine perfect for Summer, Kiwine is a blend of Kiwi, Lime & Niagara Grape. It’s a white sangria that doesn’t need the extra fruit!

Other fruit wines we enjoyed included their peach wine, mango wine, and their Spring Tide Sangria. All were delicious!

I really enjoy their “Blue Mooney”, a Merlot and Blueberry Wine blend named after their founder Joan (maiden name was Mooney).

Another favorite of mine was their Plum Wine.

Though they are known for their fruit wines, Cream Ridge Winery has also won awards for their dry to semi-dry wines. Expect to see classic wines like Merlot, Chambourcin , Cabernets, Chardonnays, Pinot Grigiom, and Sauvignon Blanc.

We ended up spending 6 hours at the winery laughing, drinking, enjoying the Spring/Summer weather and listening to a live band. It was the perfect way to spend a birthday.

I think Peppy had too much fun though..
