Press Release:
The Spirits of ’53 Corvette Club will host the 2017 Judged Corvette Show on Sunday, May 21 at the Princeton Forrestal Village Complex from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The annual event is free to attendees and will feature pristine Corvettes dating back to 1953, entertainment from the renowned DJ “Stick Shift Eddie” and a live performance by rock and soul band GoodWorks.
Every year the club donates event proceeds to a charitable organization or special needs child. This year, the event will benefit two-year-old Trent Powers. Powers was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe form of muscular dystrophy for which there is no cure. Powers, an Honorary Spotswood N.J. Police Officer, plans to patrol the show in his custom-made imitation patrol car.
“The Judged Corvette Show has become a fun, annual tradition that gives our club an opportunity to give back to our community,” said John Bieglecki, president of the Spirits of ’53 Corvette Club. “We are proud to be able to help children with special needs, like Trent and his family.”
The Corvette Show will award trophies in the following classes: Street Stock, Modified and Full Custom. There will also be specialty awards for paint, engine, compartment and best in show. The registration fee is $20 pre-show or $25 day of show. Corvette owners who want to participate should complete the registration form at http://www.spiritsof53.net/2017-show.
Event sponsorships for $100 are also being accepted. The club will recognize sponsor organizations in handouts given to each show participant.
The Princeton Forrestal Road Complex is located at the intersection of College Road and Route 1 in Princeton. The area includes a variety of shops and restaurants. The event rain date is June 4. For more information, visit www.spiritsof53.net.
About Spirits of ’53 Corvette Club
The Spirits of ’53 Corvette Club began in 1953 when three Corvette owners met and developed a bond at a Sunoco Station where they bought gas. They determined the need for a new club of Corvette owners and actively recruited other owners by leaving leaflets on car windshields.
Today, the club is primarily a social organization whose members participate in a variety of social activities including cruise nights, rallies, races, picnics, holiday parties, Broadway shows, casino trips and softball games against other clubs. The club website is www.spiritsof53.net.
