Birthday BBQ at Big Ed’s BBQ in Matawan
Last Saturday my friends and I went to Big Ed’s BBQ in Matawan (or Old Bridge, depends who you ask) to celebrate a birthday!
Big Ed’s is pretty famous for their BBQ, BBQ sauce and of course…their all you can eat ribs.
If you haven’t been to Big Ed’s, there are a few things you should take notice of when you’re there:
– The decor. They go all out…even in the parking lot!
– The garlic bread. It’s soooo good.
– TVs, TVs everywhere. Perfect for sporting games
– Super friendly waiters. Our waiter for the evening was great.
I’m not a ribs person (don’t judge) so I ordered a 1/2 pound hamburger. It came with a salad, a side and a fritter. I was definitely full by the time we left.
You may think that the prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for. I don’t know anyone who walked out of there not feeling full/carrying left overs.
We got our friend a slice of cake of the big chocolate cake for his birthday (yes, the waiters sang), and although the menu says it was big enough for 2 people…we split it among 10. It was fantastic.
If you loved your meal, they sell BBQ sauce to go, hats, shirts and even piggy banks.
People I would take here: Friends, Family. It’s a great local place! I would not recommend to vegetarians.
