My August in New Jersey

August 2nd – I made a trip to Asbury (Hunterdon County) to get a tour of Jersey Cider Works as well as get a chance to taste their Ironbound Cider. For more on that, click HERE
I also added a new diner to my list, the Spinning Wheel Diner in Lebanon. For a full review, click HERE
August 3rd – I made my annual visit to the Middlesex County Fair! So much fun! Food, rides, animals, a circus…what could be better in the Summer?
August 4th – I had an opportunity to go to the Frog and the Peach (29 Dennis St, New Brunswick, NJ ) for their Peach Festival which was 5 peach inspired courses paired with Rose. One of the best meals I’ve ever had! For more information, click HERE
August 7th – Big day in Salem/Atlantic County! I started the day checking out New Jersey’s newest distillery – Pine Tavern Distillery in Monroeville. For more on our visit, click HERE
I also got to my first Salem County Diner – the Elmer Diner
Aftwerwards, we drove up to Hammonton to check out New Jersey’s newest winery – White Horse Winery. For more on that visit, click HERE
Followed by beer (since it was only 4 minutes away) at Tomfoolery Brewing Co. For more information on that visit, click HERE
August 8th – I visited by 125th diner with FueledybyLOLZ; Sherban’s Diner in South Plainfield. For a full review, click HERE
August 9th – I got a media invite to the new iPic Theaters in Fort Lee. Such a fun experience! For more on that visit, click HERE
August 10th – Bowling night! We headed to Stryxe in Madison, NJ for a fun night of bowling and fine dining. For more on that trip, click HERE
August 12th – New Jersey Isn’t Boring meetings always call for pizza. We met at Albivi’s in Millstone for some amazing pizza and Caesar salad.
And ended the evening with ice cream as part of my NJ Isn’t Boring Ice Cream Quest. This time we traveled to Cream Ridge at TK’s Ice Cream. I got Pillsbury cake ice cream and Maine blueberry. So delicious!
August 13th – In the morning I got a behind the scenes tour at Duck Donuts in Middletown. I even got to create my own donut!
I also was invited to Bahama Breeze in Woodbridge for their “Reggae Fest”. It was fun listening to a live Reggae band and have some Jamaican inspired food.
August 14th – I visited my hometown of Manalapan and went to Mom’s, one of my favorite places for breakfast. I had the “California Sunrise” French Toast which was very filling.
I also went to Wemrock Orchards in Freehold, NJ to try some homemade baking items and sample some Jersey Fresh produce. I always love going there!
Anna, aka an Aussie in NJ, took over snapchat and visited the Thomas Edison Museum. It looked like she had a great time!
August 18th – I traveled to Butcher Block Burgers in downtown Westfield. A breakfast burger with pork roll? Yes please! Review coming soon!
August 20th – Big day for beer and ice cream!
I started the day at Czig Meister in Hackettstown (Warren County) for their first event, Hopfest! For a full review, click HERE
Since it was close, we went to check out Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream in Ledgewood. For more on that, click HERE
Apparently our ice cream fix wasn’t complete, so we went Denville Dairy in downtown Denville. Two amazing homemade ice cream places in one day!
August 21st – New diner to check out on Diner Sunday. We went to the Superior Diner in Perth Amboy for breakfast.
August 24th – Another homemade ice cream place to add to the list! Four Boys Ice Cream! Red Velvet and cannoli ice cream. Nom nom nom
August 25th – Traveled to Collingswood for beer at Devil’s Creek Brewery!
Then we walked across the street to Sapori’s restaurant with our growler. Delicious Italian food!
August 28th – I took a trip to Belmar and enjoyed the beach and the boardwalk.
…and we worked on a NJisntBoring shake at Coney Waffle! So much fun! It’s on sale TODAY, all through September.
August 29th – New diner alert! Downtown Diner located in downtown Cranford. Great, big meal for only $10.
We walked around downtown Cranford to feel better about all the food we ate. I love that downtown area so much!
Afterwards we traveled to Paterson Great Falls National Park.
Can’t beat a beautiful waterfall! And it’s FREE
August 30th – I love going to Comfi in Old Bridge for breakfast. I got the “Hercules” scrambler. Soooo good.
August 31st – Closing out the last day of August…I ventured to Asbury Park with friends. It was a beautiful night!
We enjoyed the bonfire on the beach. Glad we could make it to the last one of the season.
Before we left we got some drinks and appetizers at the Anchor’s Bend. Overall, a great night!
Looking forward to what September brings! Bring on the Fall!
