Ann’s Diner in Elizabeth, NJ: Review

I’m going to keep this diner review short and sweet just like Ann’s Diner!

Located on Division St in Elizabeth (close to Newark Airport) sits this local luncheonette known for serving homemade daily specials & regular favorites. The diner has been family owned and operated for more than 30 years.

The diner is tiny, so it’s not a great place for big groups but the diner encourages take out and they offer catering. I grabbed myself a small table and grabbed a Dr. Pepper from their fridge which was different than ordering a fountain drink at the table. My can was only $1 so it was a good deal.

The diner’s menu lists classic diner favorites for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is only served until 11:30am and I arrived at 11:45am. Oh well.

Things that stood out to be on their (very cheap!) menu included some unique paninis, homemade macaroni and potato salad, homemade soups and their daily specials. Overall their menu is a pretty basic diner menu, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Since nothing stood out to me on the menu I ordered turkey on rye with a side of french fries. My meal, with the soda, cost me under $10. And I went home with half of it!

Ann’s Diner is a favorite spot for Elizabeth Police Officers and locals to the area. It’s cute, cheap, and the food is homemade…what is better than that?
