Westhampton Family Diner: Review
During a travel through Burlington County I stopped at a diner along my route…the Westampton Family Diner. This small diner is located in between Burlington and Mount Holly appropriately on Burlington-Mount Holly Rd.
When you walk into the diner, they have a small counter on your left and then a bigger section with booths on your right. It’s not the biggest diner, but it is perfect for small groups. It’s not modern, but it’s not outdated. Overall the diner is average in it’s look, size, and decor.
Their menu is traditional diner fare. Breakfast all day? Yep! Soups, sandwiches, salads, etc. Yep, Yep, and Yep. Nothing on the menu stood out like crazy, but at the same time nothing on the menu looked unappetizing. Plus the prices for all the food was very reasonable, so it’s a pretty laid back and affordable diner. You’re definitely not overwhelmed.
I decided to order one of their “mini meals”, which seemed like the best option on their menu. Starting at $9, the mini meals come with a soup or salad, potato, vegetable, and dessert. The mini meals range from anything simple like a grilled cheese sandwich, or something more complex like a roast chicken.
There was a lot that interested me off the mini meals, but I ended up getting the “Grilled Chicken” which came with oven browned potatoes and honey mustard.
Although the presentation of my meal was not the most exciting thing, I must admit that the meal itself was delicious. There was so much chicken and potatoes that I ended up taking most of it home.
My husband also got a mini meal and decided on getting the chicken parm. His meal was only $10! If that’s not a great deal I don’t know what is.
For dessert I got rice pudding since my choices were pudding or ice cream. Rice pudding is usually hit or miss, but I must say that their rice pudding was fantastic.
My trip to the Westampton Family Diner was very pleasant and the food and service was great. With affordable options and a laid back atmosphere, this is definitely a Burlington County diner worth checking out.
