Wellness Wednesday: SoulShine Crystals + The Lion’s Den in Avon-by-the-Sea
Main Street at Avon-by-the-Sea is quickly becoming an epicenter of all things wellness with vegan restaurants, a new apothecary, and SoulShine Crystals which moved in February of 2020.
In January 2016, Courtney Giddes had made a commitment to herself that she was going to become better.
“I happened to find a personal retreat in Avon, NJ that helped me open the door that was closed off to my faith. After my private retreat, I had discovered self-healing tools and techniques such as, oracle cards, affirmation cards, vibrational/sound healing, energy healing, crystals, and surrendering myself to my higher power were exactly what resonated with me and aided me in climbing out of my own darkness. For the next 8 months I quit working (I was fortunate enough to have that opportunity), sold my house, moved into my parent’s home, went back to school, focused on my children, and rebuilding my life. I had made important self-discoveries through traveling regions of the country and internationally.”

In August of 2016, the idea of SoulShine came into her mind, and going forward followed what she felt was divinely being guided to do.
Three words to describe Soulshine Crystals are Spirituality, Lifestyle, and Community. It was designed to ensure that you truly feel the magic and life force that crystals emit. The goal is for the experience to heighten all your senses, especially your 6th sense.
SoulShine is growing and thriving because of its supportive community, as well as Courtney’s undeniable love for her company and its community. “I want people to know that there are far greater ways to heal ourselves than just depending on what modern medicine offers. I have a deep passion for helping others find their path of authenticity. If Soulshine and myself can be just a small stepping stone to help someone else achieve their own greatness, then I have done and will continue on doing what I have come here to do.”
What sets SoulShine Crystals apart from other businesses is their aesthetics, overall energy, compassionate staff, experience, and knowledge that most crystal shops do not offer. They genuinely believe earth elements and divination tools assist in forever changing lives for the better.
They have over 120 varieties of crystals, thousands of tumbled crystals, and rough crystals of all shapes. All crystals are out on display because they feel that is the best way to select them is to touch them. They also specialize in beautiful large geodes that you will see all over their space.

Courtney says, “I didn’t do this because it was trendy or I thought I was going to get rich off of it like most people who are opening up now. My staff and I get personal with our customers and encourage them to share what they are growing through so we can better assist them and help them understand why things are happening for them. I also channel for the customers and what is being guided through me to better assist our customers with their energetic healing needs.”
“We offer a massive assortment of crystal varieties, one of the largest in the area. We truly are a one-of-a-kind originally created shop. I have taken an industry that little effort was ever put into in terms of what crystals are supposed to feel like and created an aesthetic enchanting environment that keeps customers coming back over and over again.”
In addition to shopping, SoulShine offers events at their secondary space – The Lion’s Den. The Lion’s Den guided meditation events as well as tarot card reading. I recently enjoyed a Moon Magic Ceremony with Kir Grace in which the goal was to ritualized with the magic of the sacred moon cycle. This ceremony includes a guided meditation channeled specifically for the participants in the room in alignment with the astrological wisdom of this moon followed by a Crystal Bowl Sound Bath to further integrate the shifted energies.
