Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun & Games Festival Takes Flight September 21-22

The Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun and Games Festival will take place on September 21 and 22 at Warren Community College, located at 475 Route 57 in Washington, NJ.

As part of the event, the Hot Rides & Hot Air Balloons Car & Truck Show will be held on Saturday, September 21. Organizers are seeking participants for the show. Those interested can preregister for $15 until September 16 or register on the day of the event for $20. Participants and their passengers will receive free admission to the balloon festival.

The car show will feature a wide variety of vehicles, including classic, muscle, sport, exotic, custom, and antique cars. Registration will take place between 1-2 pm, and the festival will run from 2 pm to 8 pm, offering food trucks, vendors, music, children’s entertainment, and a range of balloon activities.

The legendary Doc South will provide music at the car show from 1-4 pm. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 5 pm, where trophies will be presented for the Top 10 Driver’s Choice Awards, Best in Show Judged, and a People’s Choice Award. The car show will take place on a paved lot.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fred T. Grotenhuis Veterans Community Center project, which aims to install outdoor fitness equipment in Fred’s hometown of Harmony, NJ, by the end of 2024. Funds raised from registration fees will go toward this project. Fred Grotenhuis was a lifelong resident of Harmony Township, a US Army veteran who served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot, and the original organizer of the balloon festival in Warren County at the Warren County Farmers’ Fair.
