Vineyard Review: Monroeville Vineyard and Winery
I visited Monroeville Vineyard and Winery as part of a wine trolley all around South Jersey. I had been there before but it was almost 3 years ago, so I was very excited to go back.
This small vineyard is open every day in Monroeville, which is located in Salem County. It is a family owned winery which recently opened in 2009, and their tasting room has only been open since 2012. It is surrounded by farms, so if you have a glass of wine outside you will be amused by the chickens running around.
They have plenty of wine to taste, and when I was there I got to try 8 samples:
– Monroeville Riesling, dry white
– Warehouse White – a Chilean Pinot Grigio
– Rose, dry
– NJ Stillwater Red, their best seller
– Basile – Chilean Merlot
– Warehouse Red – Chilean Malbec
– NJ Villard Blanc, sweet wine with hints of orange
– Monroeville White, a sweet Niagra
I didn’t try the Monroevile Red, which happens to be a customer favorite, because I have actually had it before AND have a bottle of it at home. It’s SO good.
This winery offers a lot of fruit based wines, and I respect that they purchase peaches, nectarines, cherries, strawberries and additional grapes from their neighboring farms.
Their tasting room is cozy and there is lots to purchased in addition to wines.
If you go there for a wine tasting or a glass of wine, they encourage you to bring food as well so it’s a great place to have lunch.
This vineyard is a great place to visit and they have great wine to taste. I highly recommend stopping by with cheese and crackers and enjoying a nice afternoon there!
