Vineyard Review: Bellview Winery in Landisville
I visited Bellview Winery located in South Jersey as part of a wine trolley going to different vineyards in New Jersey. Bellview was the first stop!
They have a great tasting room, with a big bar and tables. You get an idea for how great their wine is before you can even taste it since their awards are everywhere.
It happened to be a beautiful day that day, so we had the opportunity to have our wine tasting outside. They have a tent and tables where you can overlook the vines. It might be a little nicer to look at when it’s not Winter.
They have lots of wine to try, ranging from dry to sweet, to very sweet and sangria! Their wine tasting includes 8 tastings so I tried the following:
– Traminette, a dry crisp white wine that tastes of fruit like wine, pear and melon
– Petit Verdot, their most expensive red wine, which makes sense it’s the Finger Lakes competition gold medal winner
– Fiesta, a fruity sangria wine with a blend of cranberry and grape
– Jersey Blues, 100% New Jersey blueberries with a hint of spice
– Cristallina, their ice wine
– Winter Spice, mulled wine with cinammon, cloves and nutmeg
– Wineberry, a seasonal Winter wine
– Merry Christmas Red, a seasonal wine with pomegranate
– Merry Christmas White, an off-dry season white wine
I liked everything I tried, but my favorite was the Jersey Blues. That hint of spice really sets it apart from other blueberry wines that I’ve had.
In addition to purchasing bottles, they also have wine on tap which you can bring home in a glass growler! I thought this added a nice touch, so I ended up buying one.
Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the vineyard. The wine was fantastic, the staff was very friendly, and I got to meet the cutest border collie puppy I’ve ever seen!
