TreEscape at Great Gorge: Unleash Your Adventure Among the Treetops
Looking for a unique experience in New Jersey? TreEscape, nestled in the scenic Sussex County at the Great Gorge in Vernon, offers an exhilarating adventure high among the trees. The Adventure Park features 100 unique aerial obstacles, 15 zip lines, and courses for ages 4+.
The Aerial Obstacle Course, TreEscape’s “original” experience, presents a thrilling mix of tree climbing, zip-lining, and rope-swinging across ten courses.
The courses range from beginner-friendly purples and yellows to the more challenging greens and blues, culminating in the black course, Drillers Dare, designed for the most daring climbers. Each course offers something for every age and skill level, making it a destination you’ll want to revisit time and again.
Before taking on the aerial challenges, climbers receive a comprehensive safety and strategy lesson from the experienced TreEscape team. The following adventure is a blend of physical and mental challenges, featuring bridge spans, nets, log steps, ladders, and platforms—all designed to provide an exhilarating experience in a natural setting.

For those seeking an extra dose of excitement, the Black Creek Flyer, introduced in 2022, promises New Jersey’s most thrilling zip-line adventure. This dedicated 60-minute experience spans over 1,200 feet of zip lines, soaring 50 feet above the ground and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding terrain.
For a unique twist on the traditional aerial adventure, TreEscape’s Night Climb invites guests to explore the park under the stars. This three-hour experience combines all ten obstacle courses and the Black Creek Flyer, allowing adventurers to climb, zip, scramble, and scamper through the trees in the dark—a memorable experience for families, friends, or solo thrill-seekers.
TreEscape is designed with safety as a priority, adhering to the stringent standards of the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and undergoing annual inspections by the State of New Jersey and an arborist. With courses that range in difficulty and a team dedicated to ensuring a safe and fun experience, TreEscape at Great Gorge is the perfect destination for adventure seekers of all ages.
The park operates on weekends this Late Summer/Fall from September 9th through November 26th, with weekday group bookings available. Pricing varies depending on the day and type of experience, with options including standard climbing sessions, the Black Creek Flyer, and combination packages.
For those planning a visit, reservations are highly recommended, and proper climbing attire is essential for safety.
