Toy Con NJ: Nostalgia, Toys, Art and More
This weekend I was given VIP tickets to go to the first TOY CON NJ, which premiered on June 28 & 29th at the Parsippany P.A.L. Building on 33 Baldwin Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054.
The event has 200+ tables of Celebrity Guests, Comic & Graphic Artists, Exhibitors, Current & Vintage –Toys, Comics, Movie Memorabilia and collectibles. They also had a deal that anyone attending in full costume will be admitted free, but since I went on Sunday I didn’t get to see the costume contest on Saturday night.
Things that were cool about the event:
- Attendees are also welcome to bring their Toy & Collectible items that they can enter into the live auction.
- There will be door prizes given away every hour on the hour.
- This event was created by the same people who do the Wayne Toy and Collectible Show, which I wrote about 2 months ago. Check out more information on them here.
- Steve Savino (Travel Channel’s Toy Hunters) was there, and yes he was checking out toys at the event AND selling them.
- I got to meet cool artists who were selling original art at the event:
Picture 1: Maz Adams, Picture 2: Emilio Velez Jr & the Dodgeball Teens
I didn’t get to stay too long due to a previous commitment that weekend, but I definitely spent enough money there. Good thing I just bought I house so I have a place to put it, right? I think I have a toy spending problem…
I bought a lot cool vintage stuff…but since they’re gifts I can’t show you pictures. Sorry for the tease!
ToyConNJ will be back again at the same location on October 18 & 19, 2014. I recommend going!
