NEXTStage: Living Dead in Denmark

When the dead walk … you run! Living Dead in Denmark is an action-adventure/horror sequel to Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Set five years after the events of the original, the undead have risen to power and are trying to take over the world, led by the zombie lord and true king of Denmark. Fortinbras, assembling a formidable opposition, has resurrected the corpses of some of the greatest women that Shakespeare had to offer: Lady Macbeth, Juliet, and the very angry Ophelia. A clash of the undead titans ensues!
Using Hamlet as a jumping-off point, Qui Nguyen throws in martial arts, horror movies, pop songs, puppetry, and comic books in a hilarious and witty new play.

Healthy HeARTS Festival
November 5, 10AM – 4PM

Appel Farm Arts & Music Center will host Healthy HeARTS Festival, a celebration of arts and wellness to launch their new year-round Environmental Arts and Wellness program. On Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 10am-4pm, this day-long family friendly festival will begin with a 5k race and 1 mile walk on and around Appel Farm’s campus, and continue with sustainable art-making, wellness activities, craft vendors, live music, food trucks, and local wine and beer. Prior to the 5k race, Jess Brock-Pitts of Enlighten Well will be leading a pre-race warm up. Post race, runners will receive a custom-made wooden Appel Farm finisher’s medal and can join in a cool-down yoga class.

20th Annual KEF Holiday Craft Show

Join us for a free, family-friendly outdoor festival to learn about this culturally rich holiday with music by Mariachi Oro de Mexico, dance by El Grupo De Danza Folklorica La Sagrada Familia, delicious food from El Sabor Oaxaqueño, and hands-on projects inspired by traditional folk art. The Arts Council connects the traditions of the holiday by building a community altar dedicated to loved ones, making sugar skulls, decorating with Celosia and Cempasuchil flowers, and featuring local traditional food and drink of Mexico.

Fall Chili Cook-Off at the Meadowlands Racetrack

The Meadowlands Racetrack is keeping things spicy this fall with the Fall Chili Cook-Off scheduled for Saturday, November 5th. The competition features homestyle, chili verde and salsa categories. Not a cook? Free samples will be given for the People’s Choice vote following the 8 pm turn in. Cook-off takes place in the Food Court & outdoor East Apron.
