The Wayne Toy and Collectible Show
Yesterday, I got the chance to check out the Wayne Toy and Collectible Show for Star Wars Day…and I’m so glad I did.
The Wayne NJ Toy and Collectibles Show, which began in 1991, is New Jersey’s longest running toy collectibles show. There are many things you can find at the show: Toys, Comics, Sports Cards, Sports Memorabilia and Autographs, Small Antiques, Action Figures, Movie Posters-Memorabilia and Autographs, Die-Cast-Cars, Trucks and Planes, Books and Magazines, Dime Store Toys, Gumball Machine and Vending Prizes, Trains, Dolls, DVD’s, Star Wars, PEZ, Corgi, Gi Joe, Hot Wheels, Mego, Barbi, Original Art, Vintage Military, Cap Guns, Monster, Sci-Fi and Horror Items and so much more.
You could easily spend an entire day there if you are a serious toy collectible. Every time I walked around the room I found something new. Don’t see something you like? ASK! I have been looking forever for a Simpsons action figure of Homer in his Stone Cutter’s uniform…and I only found it because I told someone and he looked through all the boxes he brought that were not currently on display.
My husband and I walked out with a lot of stuff that we were not intending to purchase. However, we felt we got a good deal on everything and there was a lot of stuff we wanted to buy but didn’t (regret has already set it).
I highly recommend going. I had an amazing time, met a lot of great people and saw many things that reminded me of my childhood.
Bonus! I saw two local celebs: Rob Bruce (AMC’s Comic Book Men) and Steve Savino (Travel Channel’s Toy Hunters).
