The Best Pizza on the Boardwalk: Point Pleasant Edition

Memorial Day has come and gone which marks the “official, unofficial” start of the summer season here at the shore.

Jersey as you know has the best pizza and the beach area is no expectation. So for all your locals and “bennies” out there I will be giving you the load down on where to go. This week we start in my backyard of Point Pleasant with my favorite summer spot.

Located on the south side of the boardwalk (in front of the ride park) stands one of the best pizzerias I’ve ever been to: Pizza Plus. Family owned and operated for twenty-eight years this place has been serving some of the best homemade pizza on the beach. With tasty slices ranging from the traditional plain to a mouth watering chicken parm and one of the best Silicon slices I have had in a long time you are sure to get your pizza fix.e9-photo-01

They’ve had to rebuild in the past and most recently again thanks to Hurricane Sandy, but one thing that has not changed is their core outlook on serving the best and freshest food on the beach. They make everything from scratch – sauce, dough and even cut their own mozzarella! Not in the mood for a slice?!? Then try one of their “made fresh daily” salads or something from the grill. While you’re there make sure you load up on some fresh cut boardwalk fries. – Of course I had to get some too.

With beach food prices gradually getting higher you can be sure you are getting the best quality food for the price when you visit them.
