Wellness Wednesday: Sun Moon Yoga and Healing in Long Branch
I haven’t been able to do a “Wellness Wednesday” post since my knee surgery in July, so it felt great to get back to it with a yoga class at Sun Moon Yoga and Healing in Long Branch, NJ.
Located minutes from the beach on Brighton Ave in Long Branch, Sun Moon Yoga and Healing’s mission is to connect to our true joyful selves and to spread love and light into the world. They offer Yoga, meditation, stretch, and deep healing on many levels.
The space recently opened in the Summer of 2019 in a joint venture of co-owners Holmdel resident Lisa Horan-Sockol and Middletown Township resident, Emily Sobel. Both are certified and have formal, extensive training in various types of yoga. Their signature Hatha Flow “blends the vigorous flowing sequences of the Vinyasa style, with individual attention to poses, alignment and mindfulness, to create an energizing combination that builds both strength and inner heat in the body as well as calmness and stillness in the mind”.
As a somewhat yoga newbie I signed up for the class Warm Chakra Yoga Flow with co-owner Emily Sobel. Emily implements Patanjali’s Eightfold Path of Yoga into her classes. With a background in art and music, her approach to teaching yoga is creative and spiritually fulfilling.
I had never done warm/hot yoga before, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Emily was a fantastic teacher who took my knee injury into account. I left the class feeling calm and refreshed.
Sun Moon Yoga and Healing offers group yoga classes and specialized programs throughout the day and evening to accommodate busy schedules.
