Stirling House Diner in Stirling, NJ: Review

As I continue my way through eating diners in Morris County, I took a trip to the Stirling House Diner (& Seafood Pavilion!) located in Stirling, NJ.

What struck me on my first impression was the landscaping outside the diner. Since it was one of the first warm days of spring, they have landscapers spiffying up the exterior which included a pavilion, cherry blossom trees, and a paved walkway. Very impressive.

The interior of the diner was also very beautiful. As soon as I entered I was stunned by all the hand painted accents and murals throughout. Side note: I tried to get more pictures but I looked super creepy.

As far as the menu is concerned, the Stirling House Diner has quite an extensive menu featuring many fun items including their Atomic Bomb Breakfast (Corned beef hash with onions & peppers over home fries, with two eggs any style, topped with cheddar cheese), homemade cheese blintzes, homemade soups, lots of salads, a huge sandwich list, 100% Beef burgers including their Giant 12 oz. Cheeseburger (served on a hard roll), steak, and of course…seafood.

I mulled over the menu while I drank (2 cups) of their (very delicious) coffee.

Because the menu had so many items and I couldn’t make a quick decision, I decided just to order off their very reasonable lunch specials list. My lunch special including soup, so I went with my favorite: matzoh ball soup.

For my entree I got a Greek pasta salad which was a lot of food. I ended up taking over half of it home.

AND my meal came with a dessert so I got a chocolate chip cookie to go! That’s a big cookie…

My total cost was a little over $10, and my lunch special was only $8.99!

For a quality meal and a quality price set in a beautiful diner, I would highly recommend taking a trip to the Stirling House Diner!
