Screamin Hill Brewery: Review
I have been visiting a lot of NJ breweries lately, but Screamin Hill Brewery is definitely one that stands out. It’s located in Cream Ridge (Monmouth County), a rural part of New Jersey surrounded by farm land. In fact, the brewery is located on a farm and is the only farm based NJ brewery.
This brewery has a lot of rustic charm. I love that you are literally drinking inside of a barn when you’re there, it’s not a theme, it’s the real deal. It’s definitely unique, and the experience is very cozy. You even get greeted by the farm’s 2 golden retrievers when you arrive. What is better than that?
Inside the barn, everything is handmade and keeps in style with the farm and the barn. Everything about the decor flows together and gives the brewery an authentic farm craft brewery feel. I loved everything about the wood craftmanship from this American Flag:
To their tap handles:
Their beer was also incredible and they had lots to choose from on tap. You gotta love handcrafted American ales! They have a flight option where you can try 4 beers for $7, so I decided to do that to get a feel for a variety of what they were creating. Their pints and growlers were very reasonably priced. This is what was on tap the day I went:
Beers I Tried:
– Black Raz Wheat 4.9% ABV
– Desperado IPA 7.2% aBV
– Vanilla Stout 6.5% ABV
– Pumpkin Pickin’ Ale 6.8% ABV
I’m impressed that at the end of January they still had a pumpkin beer, but this has been a weirdly warm Winter.
I’m not usually a fan of IPAs, but the Desperado IPA was definitely a solid beer. It wasn’t too hoppy and it had a good aftertaste. My two favorites of the four were the Black Raz Wheat (which I ended up getting a growler of) and the Vanilla Stout. I love a beer that has a hint of fruit, and the Black Raz had smooth raspberry undertone. This is definitely a beer you can drink at any time. I ended up taking it to a Superbowl party and paired it with buffalo wings and dessert.
The vanilla stout was so smooth and it smelled amazing. Seriously, I would buy a candle of this beer and smell it all the time. I’m not a huge fan of a coffee or chocolate stout in general, but Screamin’ Hill Brewery’s vanilla stout was delicious. I could easily just have it for dessert.
I can’t stop sniffing this vanilla stout at @screaminhill. pic.twitter.com/Ope3VtdiNV

You couldn’t beat the company at Screamin Hill Brewery! I loved hanging out with Ginger while I hung out with friends. She was a big flirt. Get that dog a tip jar!

Overall, I had a great time on the farm at Screamin Hill Brewery and plan to go back soon. They have a friendly staff, and I loved the atmosphere. I would love to go when it’s warmer so I can sit outside, bring a picnic and grab a pint. Hanging out with the dogs is a bonus too. I also love that you get a free play on their jukebox:
Definitely check out this brewery!
