Camp Goldie: A Golden Retriever Experience Like No Other in Millstone, NJ
Pure joy—that’s exactly what you’ll find at Camp Goldie tucked away in the scenic countryside of Millstone, New Jersey. This one-of-a-kind destination is a true haven for dog lovers, where guests get to spend quality time surrounded by some of the happiest golden retrievers around.
The story behind Camp Goldie is just as heartwarming as the experience itself. Created by Patrick Marini and his wife, Erin, the idea was inspired by a golden retriever event they had seen in the UK. Erin has always been obsessed with goldens, and Patrick wanted to bring something similar to New Jersey. After losing their own golden retriever earlier this year, building Camp Goldie also became a deeply personal healing journey.
At first, Patrick struggled to find breeders who would even entertain the idea—until he met Susan Boekholt of Ruff Life Goldens. Not only did Susan say yes, but she also became his partner in making Camp Goldie a reality. Four years later, with the perfect location at Charleston Springs Farm, the dream came to life. Camp Goldie officially opened its doors on July 27, 2025.
Every session guarantees at least eight golden retrievers, all raised with love and care by Susan and her team at Ruff Life Goldens. These pups are renowned for their friendly, gentle temperaments and their undeniable ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. And trust us—there’s nothing quite like being greeted by a pack of wagging tails!
During NJIB’s visit, we got to witness the magical golden reveal as the dogs bounded out of the Besties Barn. From there, we watched them sprint around the “Zoomie Zone,” splash with pure joy in Lake Wag-a-More, and, of course, soak up plenty of cuddles and brushing time before the session came to a close.
It’s truly an experience that lifts your spirits and fills your heart.
And the fun doesn’t stop with summer. As the holidays approach, Camp Goldie will transform into The Golden Holiday Experience.
