Ponzio’s Diner in Cherry Hill: Review

Ponzio's Diner - exterior

I was in the Cherry Hill area on Route 70 and decided to go to Ponzio’s Diner and Restaurant for a late lunch.

First impressions of this diner reminded me a lot of Mastoris Diner in Bordentown, due to the fact that it was a big diner that had a few different sections. Each section had their own design plan. It was…interesting.

Another thing it had in common with Mastoris…the bread! Unlike Mastoris, it doesn’t just come to the table. So, because I was admiring the bread on other tables, I decided to get something on the menu that came with it. #Priorities. (Sorry)

Their cheese bread ranks high, but not as high as my favorite cheese bread (so far) at the Shore Diner or Mastoris. It was still very good and worth trying.

After much deliberation on their very big menu, I decided to get chicken francaise, which came with a soup or salad (I went with salad) and 2 sides (I chose mashed potatoes and broccoli).

Ponzio's Diner - Entree

This meal was delicious! It came with 2 big chicken breasts (enough for leftovers) in a very tasty francaise sauce. I’m not a huge broccoli fan, but their broccoli was huge and I loved dipping it in the sauce.  There was plenty of creamy mashed potatoes and they were the perfect comfort food side dish. All and all, a great meal. Since we were there for lunch, I got the “lunch price” which was $13.99. The dinner price is $17.99 which is pretty steep, but it is a lot of food for your money. While it was on the expensive side, I  enjoyed my meal and continued to enjoy it as leftovers the next day.

The diner also has your typical diner fare including breakfast all day, classic sandwiches, burgers (I was eyeing a “Cuz” Burger, it came with onion rings, cheese sauce and came on pretzel bun), salads ETC. Their prices are on the higher side, but there is something on the menu to fit every budget.

I really enjoyed this diner and I’d like to go back, even if it’s to pick up some dessert/bread or grab a drink at their very nice bar.
