I can’t believe this is already the last weekend in March! Now that it’s warmer, we can leave the house to explore what NJ has to offer (or not, you do you). The 20th Anniversary Garden State Film Festival, Daffodils, Maker’s Days, St. Patrick’s Day, and an Easter Train! Here are my top ten picks for March 25-27, 2022

Garden State Film Festival
March 23 – March 27
Now in its 20th year! New Jersey’s Premier Independent Film Festival will roll out the red carpet to celebrate 20 years and return live this year bigger and better than ever. Following 2020’s virtual and 2021’s successful hybrid events, this year returns to in-person screenings and events. Running In-person March 23 – 27 in Cranford and Asbury Park, NJ, followed by a week of Virtual Access March 28-April 3, 2022. Screening this year are more than 200 films from 17 countries, hosting parties, professional panels, events, special honors, and more.

NJ Makers Day at Whitesbog
March 26, 10AM – 2PM
NJ Makers Day! Come join Whitesbog for an indoor/outdoor Makers Day event (weather permitting) and some online Makers Day activities and guided Zoom building. Whitesbog Historic Farm & Village is a center for blueberry and cranberry industry innovation, with many patents and inventions coming from people at the farm. The Village has examples of farm equipment, tools and architectural and engineering feats to see all around. Located in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, visitors are free to hike the trails and check out the farm fields and bogs whenever your visit for free!
Note: In-person activities will require a mask and social distancing. Their picnic area has spread out picnic tables perfect for families.

Allentown Daffodil Days Festival
March 26, 12PM
Are you ready for spring? Then come on over to the historic village of Allentown New Jersey for its first-ever Daffodil Days Festival, held from March 26 through April 3, 2022. The Festival is full of family-friendly events set amongst 3,000 daffodils. A parade at noon on Saturday, March 26th kicks off a full slate of more than 30 activities (many free) and boutique shop specials. Master Gardeners will answer your questions and you can meet Revolutionary War heroine Molly Pitcher while enjoying the blooms. Take a “spin” in an indoor forest or a self-guided tour of the local scenic countryside. Savor a chocolate creation of your own making and create daffodil-themed craft projects worthy of your talents. From awe-inspiring tales of colonial times to a bike parade, art contest and walks through Allentown’s Heritage Park to enjoy a timeless story of Spring or support cancer research, there’s something for everyone.

The parade begins at 1 pm at The Ringwood Plaza, goes down Skyline Drive, and then up to 112 Erskine Road.
Keansburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Keansburg will once again host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starting at 1pm. Visit the website for route information.
EarthShare New Jersey Rocks

Are you looking for a fun night out for a great cause at the Jersey Shore? Join Martell’s Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant to rock for a greener tomorrow at the 5th annual EarthShare New Jersey Rocks concert!
