NJIB’s Guide to New Jersey St. Patrick’s Day Parades 2022

On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone is Irish. New Jersey hosts many St. Patrick’s Day parades that are FREE to attend and family-friendly! Enjoy bagpipes, Irish dancing, music, and local organizations and celebrate this time of year! And don’t forget to wear green!

Due to the ongoing restrictions and safety regulations with Covid-19, please verify these events before attending in case of any last-minute cancellations.

New Jersey St. Patrick’s Day Parades (in Date Order):

March 5th
Nutley St. Patrick’s Day (Essex County)
Parade step-off will begin at The Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave. then heads west to Franklin Avenue, where it turns north through the center of town. The grandstand will be in front of Walker Middle School, near the parade’s end at Chestnut Street.
Burlington County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Burlington County)
The only St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Burlington County begins in Downtown Mount Holly at 1pm. The Parade is a fun-filled day with Pipe Bands, Irish Bands Step Dancers, and many more examples of Irish Traditions. Join the crowd after the parade for a celebration at High Street Grill for the official After Party with nonstop Irish music on two stages all day and night.

March 6th
2022 Belmar St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
One of the top St Patrick’s Day Parades in NJ. Starts at 12:30 PM, from the western end of Lake Como at 3rd Ave and North Blvd. Parade is held rain, shine, snow, sleet etc.
Rutherford St Patrick’s Day Parade (Bergen County)
The parade route takes place along Park Avenue, starting at Woodland Avenue and going north through downtown and ending at Ames Avenue.
Gloucester City St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Gloucester County)
The parade begins at 1pm starting at Martin’s Lake (Baynes Ave and Johnson Blvd) and proceeds down Monmouth. The parade features string bands, bagpipes, Irish dancers, Irish music bands, community groups and more!

March 12th
Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Morris County)
The parade route is South Street to Atno Avenue. There will be about 20 bands with about 50,000 in attendance either in the parade or as spectators.
Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Union County)
The Parade begins in Union with the Marching units gathering at Morris Avenue and along Commerce and Jeanette Avenues, the parade route proceeds east along Morris Avenue to a turn at the Main Reviewing Stand and ends at Roosevelt Avenue. The Midway Reviewing Stand is at Morris and Caldwell Avenues. The event will feature bagpipers, dancers, grand floats and non-stop music. Join us in Union Center on Stuyvesant Ave for delicious festival foods, kids rides, activities and vendors.
Hamilton St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Mercer County)
The annual St Patrick’s Day Parade begins at the Nottingham Fire House located at 200 Mercer Street in Hamilton, NJ with opening ceremonies at 12:30pm. Parade starts at 1pm.
Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Ocean County)
The parade begins at noon on the Boulevard and goes 1- 1/4 miles long starting at the Seaside Park border on J st and ending at Sampson Avenue. The rain date scheduled for the next day. This is a popular parade, last year over 75,000 people watched. The event features marching bands and floats.
Atlantic City St Patricks Day Parade (Atlantic County)
On this day in Atlantic City everyone is Irish! Break out your green and join the fun on the boardwalk for a fun-filled family day starting at 1pm. Now in its 35th year, the parade begins North of the Garden Pier and the Boardwalk ending at Albany Avenue and the Boardwalk. It will feature pipe bands and string bands.
Annual Sea Isle City St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Cape May County)
The parade starts at 3:30pm up at 84th East Landis Ave and ends at Kix-McNutley’s, 63rd St.
North Wildwood St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Parade (Cape May County)
The North Wildwood St. Patrick’s Day Ceremony and Parade will kick-off at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 12th, 2022 on the outside steps of North Wildwood City Hall, 901 Atlantic Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260. Parade to follow the ceremony, marching down Atlantic Avenue (North) to 1st Avenue and proceeding West into the Entertainment District. A Catholic Mass honoring Irish Heritage will also be held at St. Ann Church of Notre Dame La Mer Parish in Wildwood at 10 a.m. before the ceremony.

March 13th
Bergen County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Bergen County)
Prior to the start of the parade there will be a flag raising at the Roy W. Brown Middle School in Bergenfield, NJ, at 1:00 PM, where Kieran Lynch will deliver his Grand Marshal’s address, followed by the Annual Parade March down Washington Avenue at 2:00 PM.
Hackettstown St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Warren County)
This Irish-American tradition attracts more than 14,000 visitors—making this parade one of the biggest events in Hackettstown. Streets fill with enthusiasm as families, residents and visitors line up along the curb, in store windows and porches to celebrate and witness the festive parade. The parade will kick off at 3:30 pm with Grand Marshal Mr. Joseph “Joe” Barnes from Hacketstown, Ireland, leading numerous participants including Irish dance groups, Irish bands, community groups, bagpipes and drums, Centenary University and Hackettstown High School teams and clubs, Hackettstown and surrounding area fire departments and rescue squads, as well as hometown favorites Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band. This parade is pet-friendly, with a special pet costume contest sponsored by Doggie Styleash.
Jersey City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade (Hudson County)
Dickinson High School to Jersey Avenue via Newark Avenue. The parade kicks up at 12:30PM
West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Essex County)
The parade route begins at 12:15PM at the corners of Main Street & Mt. Pleasant Avenue (WO Town Hall) and runs north along Main Street to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Eagle Rock Avenue
Asbury Park St Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
The Asbury Park St Patrick’s Day Parade will commence at 1pm at the Asbury Park Boardwalk on Ocean Ave at 5th Ave and continues southwest towards the downtown. Asbury Park’s parade showcases our musical roots on a wave of floats sponsored by local music venues. All are welcome to participate and spectate, including dogs!
Freehold Borough Arts Council’s 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
Kick-off at 1pm. The parade route this year is packed with tons of fun and Irish tradition, as participants will march from McLean Street to the Elk’s Lodge.
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Hunterdon County’s 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Hunterdon County)
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Hunterdon County, a 501c3 charity organization, is proud to announce the 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade which will be held on Sunday, March 13th. The Parade kicks off at 3pm in beautiful downtown Clinton, NJ home of the historic Red Mill. The Parade has over forty marching units which include five pipe and drum bands featuring the NJ State Police Pipes and Drums of the Blue and Gold. The other marching units include fire engines from the Town of Clinton, Civil War re-enactors, horses, dogs and local community groups.
The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
The parade route starts at 1pm on Allen Street and River Road and ends at the intersection of Carton Street and Forrest Avenue (approximately one mile long). This event is more than a parade. It features 8 bagpipe bands, floats, marching bands, Irish Step Dancers, traditional Irish food, antique and classic cars, novelty acts, veteran groups, and much more.
Somerville St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Somerset County)
The parade begins at the corner of Main and Grove Streets in downtown Somerville and will proceed west to West End Avenue near Immaculate Conception Church. A pre-parade show is typically held weather permitting at 1:00 P.M. and will feature Irish Dancing exhibitions, and will be located in front of the Review Stand at the corner of Main Street and Doughty Avenue.
Woodbridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Middlesex County)
The parade begins at 1:30pm Woodbridge High School, Route 35, and ends at Woodbridge Town Hall, Main St.
West Hudson Saint Patrick’s Day Parade (Hudson County)
The twice delayed Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will step off at 1:00 PM from 3rd Street and Harrison Avenue, proceed through Harrison and East Newark, and march to Kearny Town Hall.

March 16th
Newark Parade (Essex County)
Starting at 1pm, the parade will proceed at the Prudential Center on Mulberry Street past Gateway Center, NJPAC, Military Park, St. Patrick’s Pro-Cathedral, the Newark Museum, and Washington Park.

March 19th
18th Annual Highlands St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
The colorful festivities will highlight Irish culture with nearly 100 marching units including bagpipers, marching bands, Irish dancers, and beautifully decorated floats. The parade will begin at Waterwitch Avenue and extend along Bay Avenue. The 2022 Grand Marshals are Nancy Burton and Eileen Ricco, proprietors of In The Garden, Highland, NJ.
Keyport St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Monmouth County)
The parade begins at 1:30pm at St. Joseph’s Church on Maple Place, the parade will move over West Fourth Street and continue on Maple Place to Broad Street where it will then head down to West Front Street, ending at Fireman’s Park. The Keyport Fire Department hosts the yearly St. Patrick’s Day Parade which features live music, floats, entertainment, participating community organizations, and of course Fire Department Apparatus.

March 20th
Bayonne St Patrick’s Day Parade (Hudson County)
Beginning at 1pm, the parade will begin on Broadway and 5th Street, proceeding north to 39th Street where we turn west to Avenue C and end at the entrance of Stephen R. Gregg/Bayonne County Park.
South Amboy St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Middlesex County)
Marchers will line up on South Pine Avenue starting at 12 PM. The parade then takes the following route: Head North on S. Pine St, Turn Right onto Bordentown Avenue, Turn Left onto South Stevens, Turn Right on 2nd Street, Turn Right on Broadway, and ends on Broadway at the reviewing stage.

March 26th
Ringwood St. Patrick’s Parade (Passaic County)
Parade begins at 1pm at The Ringwood Plaza, goes down Skyline Drive then up to 112 Erskine Road.
Keansburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Keansburg, Monmouth County)
Keansburg will once again host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade starting at 1pm.
